I think pastor Mark should stick to preaching the Word, and stop trying to clickbait people into watching his YouTube videos. This series was actually produced by Jon Erwin, who also produced Jesus Revolution, and I Can Only Imagine. Solid faith based films. I think we should support this series, and encourage others to watch it as well. Itβs better than watching a lot of the stuff out there. Just saying.
I don't think I actually heard your review of this movie as I was hoping and as the title implied. But I'm also wondering what you think of The Chosen. One of the things Dallas and Amanda Jenkins regularly say is that it is fiction based on the Bible and encourage people to READ the Bible. I have a lot of respect for that!! And I love the show and the way they portray Jesus. π
There's no way to ever get a 100% accurate depiction of any Bible story. I think the best we'll ever do is 50%. We have the Bible itself for information. Then we have the archeaologists who are able to find the landmarks and ancient texts. But that's where it stops. We don't have living beings who were there when it happened. So once we gather all the info we can, we do the best we can to recreate the story which comes out 50% or less accurate.
As for what was said about Amazon. Their web services AWS which provides internet services to a wide array of businesses including the adult film industry. Amazon is a business. A business has the purpose of making money. Whether that be selling goods or entertainment. They're taking a neutral approach overall. This is the same company that sells both Bibles and s*x toys on the same website. They don't care. If it's going to bring money into the company, they'll sell it. The same thing here. There's going to be hundreds of thousands of Christians that will get Prime just to watch this video. And then they'll cancel the subscription. Amazon doesn't care because they get their money either way. People really need to stop holding businesses, especially big businesses, to Christian standards. Enjoy the wins when they happen. But remember these are organizations with one thing on their mind above anything else. Money!
Amazon is trying to make money in the form of Capitalism. Christianity sells because it is true. Amazon needs to learn that the production must be based on truth of the Bible or it will fail financially.

I do not Amazon or whoever not to do something vile with the David and Jonathan relationship.

Mark Driscoll Ministries is taking your money
Mark, you need to go to Joe Rogan and other pod casts like Tim Pool and reach other people.
So a bit of a click bait. Jeff besos had nothing to do with making this movie.
Feels like Amazon is trying to cash in on the interest drummed up by The Chosen.
Seven Mountain Mandate. Please tell us if you're all-in. I suspect that you are.
