I think this has shown me that I'm not mediating on who I am in Christ. Hearing is not enough, my identity in Christ has to be pondered over in my mind to really get it into my heart, spirit and beliefs, and to root out all the worldly things from which I am trying to get my identity.
Anything other than God that defines you, can be used by the enemy to confine you. The solution: switch our worth from things made to The Maker. Why? Because, "Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, [16] for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see- such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. [17] He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. [18] Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything." Colossians 1:15-18 (NLT)
2:26 Ultimately any Identity that is Achieved, rather than Recieved, has to be excluding! The only way you can feel better is if these other people are not as good as you! Powerful!
