Nine pillars that a victorious and apostolic church must be built upon Matt.16:17-18 ~ Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. β Church β Most believers have various definitions of the church. β May the church become so formidable and drive away any darkness. β There is gross ignorance across believers. β Many sincere preachers who were not taught well teach what they think they know and end up raising a wrong sided building. β May there be a shift in your understanding. β The mind of Jesus when Beginning the church was: I. The church is God's spiritual strategy, β It was primarily set to be a spiritual strategy. Jer 51:20 ~ "You are My battle-ax and weapons of war: For with you I will break the nation in pieces; With you I will destroy kingdoms; β You are God's strategy and God's battle axe. II. The church also refers to men and women (people) who have come to Christ, saved filled with the holy spirit 1 Peter 2:5 ~ you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (NKJV) Rom 12:4-5 III. The church also refers to an institution of truth, where believers are mentored till they attain the full stature of Jesus Christ. 1 Tim 3:15 ~ but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. (NKJV) Heb 10:24-25 ~ And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. β Any church must be built on the foundation of Jesus Christ. β If any church is built on foundation of manmade sentiments, gifts, politics, etc it will fail. β The church must be built on Jesus. β Even if you stay in church for many years but have not encountered Jesus as Christ, Lord and Savior; that person is not part of the church. β You can be in church through service but if you never got in church through Jesus as the gate then you are not welcome. β’ You may know a lot of Christian songs and fall under the anointing; but if you have not received Christ as Lord, savior and king then you are not in church. β’ There are many sincere people in church who have never truly encountered Christ. β’ We need to look beyond the large crowd and verify if truly Jesus is Lord, Savior and Christ in our congregants. β Jesus Must be the chief cornerstone of your life, ministry, etc.
What does it mean for Jesus to be Lord, Savior and Christ? β You need to attain the revelation of Jesus as Lord, savior and Christ. β Apostle Paul at the end of his life desired that he may know Jesus and the power of His revelation. β You need to know Him as He is not for ministry, not for more members but to attain His revelation. Acts 2:36 > "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." (NKJV)
Jesus as Savior What does it mean for Jesus to be Savior over a man's life? Titus 2:13 β To know Jesus as Savior means to know Him as an expression of the love of the father to you. β It means to believe that He died for you. β You then attain forgiveness of sins and the life of God. β Jesus as Savior as revelation of God's love for you. Mark 15:34 ~ And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which is translated, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" (NKJV) β It is to know the extent of His love for you. β’ You truly believe God's love for you when you receive Jesus as Savior. Rom 3:23 ~ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (NKJV) β Jesus took the whole sin of the world upon Himself. β Jesus after rising from the dead was lifted above all others.
β There are consequences of rejecting did on the cross is that you are doomed for eternity.
Jesus as Lord What does it mean for Jesus to be Lord over a man's life? β It means to understand Jesus full extent of His power. Eph 2:11 ~ Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh-who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands- (NKJV) 1 Chron 29:11-12 β The revelation of Jesus as Lord will usher you into greatness. β The cure to all the curses and yokes is when the Lord of the universe shows up in your life. β’ Your response to Jesus as Lord is that you worship Him and give Him the reverence He deserves. β’ He is the lifter of men, He declares a thing and it is established. β’ To do exploits in this world you need to know Jesus as Lord over your life. β’ When you Jesus as Lord the world becomes too small for you. β’ There are names connected to the Lord: the maker, β’ When you know Him as Lord; you become indomitable. β’ The earth is the Lord's. β’ For structural establishment; you need to know Jesus as Lord. Psalm 24:1 ~ The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. (KJV)
Jesus as Christ To know Jesus as Christ Jesus as the Christ β It is to understand His divinity. β When it has to do with authority, you need the revelation of Jesus as Christ. Isaiah 54:7 ~ "For a mere moment I have forsaken you, But with great mercies I will gather you. (NKJV) β This is the revelation that turns ordinary men to do exploits. Eph 1:19 ~ and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power (NKJV) β God resides within the church. β We are not ordinary but custodians of His power. Acts 4:33 ~ And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. (NKJV) β The reason many have remained powerless is because they don't know Jesus as Christ. Micah 3:8 ~ But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD, And of justice and might, To declare to Jacob his transgression And to Israel his sin. (NKJV) Acts 10:38 ~ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. (NKJV) β This here is the foundation of what the church is. β The weakness of the church is traceable to the lack of understanding of the three that is Jesus as Lord, savior and Christ. β There is no church that has understood thoroughly Jesus as Lord, savior and Christ that is beggarly and weak. β It always starts with Jesus; the key is Jesus, the formula is Jesus.
