I remember in my Senior year in High school being Catholic was explained to us by the nun, first time I heard about it, how it was explained to us, I can not remember exactly what she said because it was 40 years ago but I remember still how it made me feel. I remember it gave me joy and peace within me because it made sense to me. I remember it was beautiful and I believed it is the truth. I pray that someday, it will all comeback to me and remember again what made me happy that day. I should have reflected on it longer when I first heard about it.
Let's be real. Most people are Catholic(or whatever), because of their parents. If your parents are Catholic, Protestant, Muslim… you are most likely to be what your parents are.

Honestly, Catholic is the truth. Not everyone in the world belongs to Christ and the Catholic Church has done the research about the whole religions and pagan beliefs people have in the world; the Bible is center universally in Catholic faith. Hi! I am a young Catholic who has been struggling a lot to stay loyal to my faith. I was forgetting why I chose to be Catholic. Young Catholics need to read the bible, pray the Rosary/divine mercy everyday, and catechize themselves, because a lot of 'teachers' are failing to do that for our young generation and so many are ignorant about the Catholic faith and our history.
Telling that not a single person said that they are a Catholic because of the compelling empirical evidence that it is true. All I heard was a lot of vacuous wishful thinking from people who seemed devoid of critical thinking skills.
Like all authoritarian religions, Catholicism is passed from parents to children and there is really no choice for the children. The inability to speak about the reason for their membership shows itself in the first reactions of these young people.
Yes, some of their later reasoning is authentic, but most of these kids are at the beginning of their lives and still have a "catechism" acceptance of their faith. I would like to see them in ten years after establishing themselves in the world with relationships, a wife or husband, a job and let's see what their answer would be.
I make a judgment that many of them will no longer be Catholic because young people are not grounded in fear like their parents and when they see dishonesty or a lack of integrity, they walk.
Catholicism doesn't "wear well" without fear and young people reject fear as a motivation for anything!!!
