  1. Transformers one is literally like the Christian transformers movie. There is an oppressor enslaving his people for his own gain and coming as a false prophet as a false savior. Then Orion pax, D-16, B-127 and Elita-1 all go on an adventure discovering the truth that their world isn’t as it seems. Then Optimus after dying trying to save his friend from going into the darkness he gets resurrected to bring a new order. To be a new leader for the cybertronians hmmmmmmmmmmm

  2. In order of how i think of your takes:

    Harry Potter – agree
Matrix – 100% true. Its not even subtle
Intersteller – Ummm… no. Not at all
    Iron Giant – No
Trueman show – Sorta… it certainly uses a lot of religious and Christian imagery but the message isnt about sacrifice or redemption so half correct

  3. I'd say The Matrix is more Buddhist than Christian, simply because of its primary focus on gnosticism. But as a Baptist, I do admit that many Christians subconsciously believe in gnosticism, not realizing that it's heretical.

  4. Biblical Warnings Against Sorcery and Divination
Scripture is unambiguous about practices like witchcraft, sorcery, and divination:
    – Deuteronomy 18:10–12 lists these as abominations: “There shall not be found among you anyone who… practices divination, or tells fortunes, or interprets omens, or a sorcerer… For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord.”
    – Galatians 5:19–21 includes sorcery among the “works of the flesh,” warning that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
    – Acts 19:19 shows early believers burning their magic books as a sign of repentance.

From this lens, the Harry Potter series undeniably portrays elements—witches, spells, magical creatures, and divination—that are biblically condemned. Even if framed as fantasy, the normalization of these practices can desensitize readers to their spiritual danger.

    Rowling’s Claim of Christian Inspiration:
J.K. Rowling has said she was inspired by Christian themes, especially in the final book, Deathly Hallows, which includes references to resurrection, sacrificial love, and even Scripture (like the tombstone inscription from Matthew 6:21: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”). Some argue these themes reflect Christ-like imagery.

But here's the issue: symbolism doesn’t sanctify sorcery. Even if the narrative includes moral lessons or allegorical elements, the medium matters. Rowling’s use of real-world occult terminology—like astrology, numerology, and divination—goes beyond harmless fantasy. Unlike Tolkien or Lewis, whose magic is more mythic and allegorical, Harry Potter’s magic often mirrors actual occult practices, which can be researched and replicated.

    Christian Responses: Divided but Passionate
    – Many evangelicals have denounced the series, warning that it glamorizes witchcraft and opens spiritual doors.
    – Others argue it’s just fiction and can be read with discernment, pointing to themes of love, courage, and self-sacrifice.
    – Some churches have even held book burnings, while others have used the series as a springboard for theological discussion.

MASSIVE contradiction between Rowling’s claims and the biblical worldview. The Bible doesn’t just warn against practicing magic—it warns against entertaining it. Even if Harry Potter is “just a story,” its spiritual implications can’t be ignored. The question isn’t just whether it’s Christian-inspired—it’s whether it’s Christ-honoring.

  5. Think about this. In the movie Avengers Endgame, we see Tony Stark sacrafice himself to save humanity. If it wasnt for his sacrafice, Thanos would have snapped and vanished 50 percent of the worlds population. Does that remind you of anything in the Bible? You know with Jesus' crucifixion..Here is another thing about Thanos. Remember how he sacraficed his daughter for another infinity stone to make him MORE POWERFUL? This reminds me of when Satan was cast down from Heaven because he was basically jealous of God. Hmmm…?

  6. Christianity has had influence over so many common tropes nowadays. Having some sacrifice themselves for someone or something only to realize they didn’t actually die is so common nowadays, you can’t say all of those films are Christian.

  7. What abt LOTR? It’s abt a guy who goes across the world with his campions to a likely death outcome and Frodo goes through sin like temptation to save humanity

Also PS JRR Tolkien has said that it’s inspired by Christianity
