  1. The ONLY thing this has in common with the original story is the title. Go read the original (or a good translation of it) — it's only a couple of pages long. And it won't warm your heart, it will make you cry.

  2. Maybe it is more like The Little Match Girl- Part 2; where, after dying, she goes to heaven to become an angel, comes back to earth for "assignments". Then, when no one is looking, she disappears when the mission is accomplished!?

  3. Although this is an easy movie to watch the true story as written is the little match girl lived on the streets and froze to death on Xmas eve, after she ran out of matches she used to keep warm. This story should not have this title because it is an untrue representation. There was no happy ending and nothing to do with bent cops, evicting tenants on Xmas eve and entitled rich people. Merry

  4. I was just thinking of a movie about the match girl a few day ago and here she is! 🙂

I am half way and i love it, with a great cast and quite funny at times.

  5. The brits are thieves… the irish too… but especially the jews… Thieves and liars, could they all burn in hell's fires… The script is so politically correct that some could forget that's not an american story but to the great Hans Christian Andersen it owes the glory…

  6. The original story is one of my very favorites! This is not that story, but a wonderful reworking of the theme in a 20th century setting. I loved it! But really unhappy that the cast list and credits were left out.
