Who is Jesus? Maybe more thought is needed to understand what is meant by "Jesus is The Word". When we ask, many claim that means Jesus is the Bible. If that is true and Jesus is our all in all, or everything we need, then why are we not searching 'The Word' for the things we need in todays world?
Things like protection from those who come to steal, kill, destroy? Jesus told us they were coming, does He have no solution to the problem? What kind of father or brother would be so cruel as to set the children, or brothen in a land mine with a comment of 'watch your step' then leave you there with no other help?
If Jesus has all the answers, then maybe we havn't looked past the cross where He has risen to Kingship. The Father's throne? He kept His Father's laws when He was here, is He still keeping them and we are ignoring Him as King?
We follow the advice of Jesus when He was the only begotten Son of God, but we never see what He is like or advises us to do as King. If we do what we can, just as we did when He was a child of God, we do what we can under the King's advise. We too are just children of God and we too need to learn what the King advises His children. We are not kings or priest so there is much that does not apply to us as indviduals because those laws written in the O.T. was for a nation.
One can look at the O.T. as law if they choose, but maybe a better way to see it is advise, or even love. Can we really believe that He would leave us with no out, or no way to keep the world from overcoming us when He knew we would need Him more than ever at this time?
It has been said man will be ruled by God or by tyrant. Which is our destiny? If Jesus is God, why do we refuse His ways as King? We are all children of a King, we don't have to go down like this.

For the last 2000+ years, a mass group of people called Christians, Islams and Jews that follow an Abrahamic pantheon filled with gods, kings and heroes have been slandering and lying about other groups of people; stealing their land, robbing their homes and stores, making up lies about them, rewriting history to make themselves look like the victims, killing, torturing and telling non-Abrahamic followers what they can and can not do. All in the name of their "God." But their God tells them NOT to lie, bare false witness, trespass, steal or kill. I am sorry but if a GOD tells you straight-forward NOT till do these things to HIS children (And the bible says we are ALL his children)…and then tells you to KILL his children in HIS name, you are not praying to a loving god. You are praying to a sadistic demon. But do as you wish…it's your eternity in Hell you are forging.
