  1. How many decades have we been arguing this?
And why? Let the Scriptures speak for themselves.
Many are called, but few are chosen.
But if you must feed that ego and pride…
Yes, you have free will. You can feely make the same choices that Judas made.
So, what does it say about mankind and free will. When better than 90% of us will spend all of eternity in Hell?
    I never knew you!
Without the Father God drawing us to His living Word. Our sinful nature will never seek Him. It isn't in you to make that choice.
Evil does not recognize its evil nature. Evil does not know that it is evil. Just try making a free will choice for God in that natural state of mind. Your heart lies to you continually.
Jesus said that the truth is not in you. It doesn't exist in you until God puts it there.
People! You don't even know how to pray let alone what to pray for. And yet… you believe that you can make a good Spiritual choice without the influence of the Holy Spirit?
The very fact that people continue to argue this point only validates the obvious state of their soul. Lost.
Salvation is a work of God. Not you.
There is a very big difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing Jesus. Between practicing a religion and living for and with Christ. That personal relationship with Christ is a real thing. It only happens with a regenerate heart.
I didn't do that for myself. I couldn't. Jesus did that for and to me. He seeks us out. Each and everyone of us are called into His Kingdom. Just like He chose His own Disciples.
Faith is a gift from God. If you don't have it… how are you going to get it? Hey Missouri! How does that work for you?
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
    The calling.

  2. What a gloomy message! So none of us can come to God unless he's picked us out. Jonathan Edwards was one of the lucky ones then.
No I don't think so , its a lie from the pit of hell. People everywhere can respond to God because our God in his sovereignty enabled us to be able to. Just as Able was able Cain was too and God even desired him too listen to his council but sadly he chose not too. The choice to respond to our creator lies with us people. God wonders why we don't use the ability he gives us , yet he still by his marvelous grace helps us. This is why we can truly give him glory because he is a wonderful saviour. Look to the cross and put your trust in Christ everyone, you are able and God wills you too but never forces. He loves you.
Read Genesis chapter 4 People are calling on the Lord and becoming a prey to evil, read Isaiah chapter 59 the same is happening but see how our Lord responds.
Don't be decived people. Calvanism is deceiving.
Seek and you will find xx

  4. I'm thankful that God, in His awesome omniscience, did not predestine me to be a Calvinist. I'm responsible for my choices within God's guardrails. And yes, before I was even born he has seen all the choices I have made and will make. It really is that simple!

  5. Five Points of Biblical Truth

    Free Will :
    The God given ability for
    mankind to choose when
    a choice is present.

    Point #1
    In the beginning God
    created humankind .

    Genesis 1:27
[27]So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

    Point #2
    God commanded Adam not
to eat of the tree of the
    knowledge of good and evil
in the midst of the garden.

    Genesis 2:16-17
[16]And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
[17]But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

    Point #3
Adam did have the ability to freely choose to willfully eat of the tree or not to eat of the tree in the midst of the garden

    Genesis 3:6
[6]And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

    Point #4
After the fall of man in the garden, did man somehow
    lose the God-given ability to
    freely and willfully choose
when a choice is present? No

    Genesis 3:22
[22]And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

    Note
(The ability of man to freely and willfully choose when a choice is present was not lost after the fall, only solidified and intensified, because man now has the knowledge of Good and Evil and the ability to freely and willfully choose to either do good or evil ).

    Point #5
Do we (mankind) today still have God-Given Free Will, the ability to freely and willfully choose when a choice is present? Yes

    Revelation 22:17
[17]And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

    Conclusion >
Whosoever reads this will present solid evidence that even today mankind has free will to choose when a choice is present. Some who read these Five Points of Biblical Truth will freely and willfully choose to except and believe them, and others will freely and willfully choose not to except or believe this biblical truth by their own free will.

  6. We could have never done anything to change our lives. Our choices right and wrong were determined by God. I haven't been punished because I made the wrong decision. I couldn't even make the right decision. I couldn't make the wrong decision. Even my decision is HIS DECISION for HIS PURPOSE TO HIS GOOD PLEASURE. We worship him as children. In awe of YOU, my KING.

  7. Silly asses, what glory does God get out of making a bunch of robots?! Im supposedly unresponsible for any part of my salvation, yet im fully responsible for my sins! If i am totally incapable to choose salvation, then how can God hold me responsible for choosing to sin? Just cause God draws us, doesnt mean we will choose to follow Him. I saw an advertisement for a new car at the auto dealership and it drew me down there to check it out. Guess what? I left without buying the car cause i didnt like it! Calvinists make God out to be a weakling who must make us to do all He says and wants, or else He wont be able to reach the results He wants to produce. God will get done what He wants done, whether we comply with Him or not. He doesn't need us to accomplish His plans. Calvinists need to figure out the difference between God's sovereignty and His omnipotence. There's a huge difference.

  8. Psalm 14;1 The fool says in his heart,"There is no God", The Sons of men,( Cains descendants),14: 3-4, all turned aside they have together become corrupt; there is no one (fool) who does good not even one, will the evildoers (DISOBEDIENT) never learn? they devour my people as men eat bread. read Psalm 53 also. This Psalm is addressed to those men that were attacking Israel and God is calling them fools.
Lamentations 3:33, God does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men
Job 37:23, God is excellent, powerful in judgment and justice, He will not afflict Also
read Ezekiel 18 which states that everyone will die for their own sins.
Joshua 24:14-15 asks Israel to choose whom they will serve, as did Elijah, 1 kings 17:20-21.
Ezekiel 18: 23,32 together with 1 Timothy: 2:1-4 and 2 peter 3-9 say that the Lord finds no pleasure in that the wicked should die, but that they all repent of their ways and turn to Him and be saved. In Psalm 147:11 the Lord delights in those who fear Him and hope in His mercy and unfailing love.
God is love, 1 John 4;8, ( whoever does not love God's creation is none of His).
All these biblical passages and so many more like them I find very difficult to incorporate with your arguments concerning the will of the people. When God said let us make men in our own Image He gave them the right to choose, otherwise the love of God would not be love at all because forced love is not love at all.
If we are all assigned to heaven or hell from the start what is the Bible all about? Let us eat, drink, dance, and make merry while we are here because whatever we do does not matter. I do not agree with philosopher Johnathan Edwards who came 17 hundred years after the Apostles with his hard to understand findings.
It seems to me that the arguments between Calvin and Arminius followers are best left alone since all they do is bring all kinds of ill feelings and divisions between God's people.
According to Calvin's, (The Institudes of the Christian religion 2.3.3.) He did not teach the phase of total depravity, in fact he expressly disclaimed that view.
Martin Luther's close friend and right hand man Philip Melanchthon(1497-1560) who disagreed with Luther on several theories did not bring them up because of Luther's violent temper, and on his deathbed said he was glad to be gone from all those disagreeing theologians whose violence he was so tired of.
God and He alone knows how His people are chosen. We can never figure out how it is done, How God can do both things because with God all things are possible, ( Mathew 19:23-26).
    .

  9. Makes perfect sense. It’s interesting this genius was wrong on some important doctrines. Edwards believed in a doctrine that murdered Christians as early as 391 because he did not discern the difference between the Abrahamic Covenant and the New Covenant
