I liked point 5 because that is what I run into a lot at work. I will do later, I do not have time now to do. This causes me to have to do if fellow workers are out sick or something. A song that stuck out was excuses you hear them everyday. One area we should not have an excuse in and that is when it comes to asking Jesus in our heart. We do not know when it will be our time to go on this earth.
Honest critique : this is standard “boiler plate” preaching heard at every “conservative , IFB , Baptist” church literally every Sunday and Wednesday night ; a mix of law and “get to work” Grace , while at one point you did give a clear Gospel presentation most of this was the typical “God is mad at you “ “clean yourself up” Baptist tripe , the old where ya gonna go when you die at its core. People need Christ right now today because life for all of us is a disaster today including you preacher , how about more preaching on the Grace of God everyone needs just to make it through the day. The reality is you twisted this scripture , as a study of the chapter reveals Jesus is talking to the Pharisees and lawyers that we’re choosing out the “chief rooms” , it is a rebuke of the “religious crowd” and you applied it to New Testament Christians and lost people 🤔 … Ultimately I wish “pastors” understood the 2 natures of the Christian instead of being so focused on what the flesh does , which by the way has been crucified with Christ , would be more focused on what Jesus did for us and instead of condemnation and “get to work” it could be enter into His rest Hebrews 4. But then again if I’m just gonna keep things real we know you can’t build an “American church” empire on the Grace and rest offered to us in The finished Cross Work Of Jesus Christ. Am I right ?
Amen Pastor ! Excuses are always a bad thing I say just be honest and as for white lies I remember my dad used to say there is no such thing, a lie is a lie .
I appreciated the reference to Proverbs 13:15. The full verse says ”Good understanding giveth favour: But the way of transgressors is hard.“ Thank you, Pastor.
An excuse is the skin of a reason stuffed with a lie.
Very thought-provoking message. The comment “excuses are not reasons” really caught my attention.

This is an SFL classic, a message that we should hear at least once a year.
My favorite point was that if you make excuses someone else will enjoy the benefits.
This is definitely a “take with you throughout the week” kind of sermon.
This pastor has a pure and sweet spirit
