There's no such thing as an "Ex-Christian". The term is an oxymoron.. There's only genuine Christians who are kept by God, and false- "Christians" who fall away (who never were born again to begin with) who only wore the T-shirt for a while, as it were.
There is ZERO evidence of any Old Testament occurrence, person, oral tradition, literature, correspondence, artifact, people naming their children after Old Testament characters, etc. until the 3rd century BCE. Never, not one. David, Moses, Abraham, Elisha/ja, Joseph, Daniel…nope. It was all back-dated/back written to show how the claims of a more modern time were fulfilling "ancient prophecies." It's all just mythologies, reshaped, reformed and agenda based. Whether the agendas were the original goals or not, I don't know, but they are used to further agendas now-a-days.
I have an idea, of whats going to be a proof to me. 10:26 . In a debate someone needs to read a prophecy to me and then I want god to show me and everyone in the room exactly when and how that prophecy came true at that moment.
Tony should understand that the science of today is not complete science. He doesn't want to believe what God has to say, but will believe a person can " biologically " turn into whatever they wanted. That's not critical thinking whatsoever that's obeying social norms of today which is becoming like the days of Noah and Lot. More prophecy being fulfilled in real time.
Yeah I don’t understand what his standard of proof is either. If some guy rose from the dead after three days I could rightfully take it on good authority that he has some divine, supernatural power. Although that doesn’t logically establish this person is God, if he tells me faith in his divinity is required for salvation, I think I would be very inclined to believe. Especially considering the problem of solipsism and the epistemological problem of absolute proof. Proof, as I have come to understand it from my studies of physics and mathematics, is reserved for conditional logical deduction as in mathematics. Inductive reasoning in the domain of physics is not proof. Indeed, science does not claim to prove anything only disprove what is falsifiable and establish knowledge on the basis of a probability that it may be false. Truly, faith is unavoidable, religion aside.
However, directly witnessing someone return from the dead and taking it on the authority of manuscripts from 2 millennia ago are not at all within the same “standard of proof”.
@11:49 "materialistic"?? The material world is all there is.There's no magical land of make-believe. There are no alternate dimensions nor space between spaces. I really wish some of you "people of faith" could hear yourselves. This is a grown man – an actual adult – trying to convince you that there's a magical land of make-believe beyond the real world. Do any of you remember this tv special called "Living With Michael Jackson" that Martin Bashir did? In it Michael Jackson keeps calling himself Peter Pan and at one point he climbs a tree and calls it his wishing tree where he makes wishes. That's what this guy and others like him remind me of. They close their eyes and cross their fingers and if they wish hard enough their magical invisible friend in the sky will be real!! They deny evolution when their own DNA contains evidence of evolution. Their own DNA contains chromosome 2. They are the evidence yet they deny it and say it is all the work of their invisible friend in the sky. It amazes me. They simply cannot understand that their denial of reality does not change reality. The cold hard fact is that reality keeps it real.
If a large alien spaceship, the size of north america, hovered over Turek's house and the aliens told him – they created christianity and god is actually an alien, he still would not believe it. You cant argue or lay forth any argument outside faith to these people
In today's world being an ex-anything is a way of side-stepping into credibility for the field you say you 'used to' be a part of: ex-Christian, ex-dispensationalist are the two biggest groups.
1. Getting hung up on witches and giants shows a lack of reading comprehension and historical context. Witches are representative of demonic power, which Dr. Turek addressed, even though the questioner rejected his answer. The Nephilim were described in the mythological pre-history of Genesis 1 – 11. The point of those passages isn't about how tall humans can physically be, it's about wickedness and righteousness. The ex-Christian should probably study more "just so" stories from other cultures to understand the genre that is written in that chapter. The Bible is not a single book written by one author within one genre. It's a collection of books, with different authors, from different time periods, written in different styles and genres. There's history, there's poetry, and yes, even "just so" mythology. It all serves a cohesive purpose, together, which is to point humanity towards Christ. Dr. Turek may have had a harder time answering that question because of a belief in total, literal inerrancy, but that is a modern concept not believed by the historical church of the first millennium, nor held today by many orthodox, mainstream Christians such as Catholics or EO.
2. The resurrection of the dead certainly does prove divinity. Nobody else has ever done it. If the guy said he would resurrect, died, and then (after being fully proven dead) 3 days later he comes back to life, then yeah, I would believe he's God. Only God can bring life out of non-life. If Satan could do that, he would have. Naturalism certainly makes no room for it. No other deity or religion has any good evidence for true bodily resurrection. It logically follows that resurrection –> God, when you understand what that actually entails. I.e. literally creating life from non-living matter, and in a sudden, complex, and distinctly human form as well.
Main problem is there is no evidence that Supply bill is in any way factual it's just a collection of stories written by humans collected by humans and organized by humans and it is so obviously flawed and self contradictory that it's not the product of a higher being unless that higher being is a moron.
Believing in God requires faith. It’s pointless to argue with someone who’s already decided they won’t believe just because they haven’t seen Him. The Bible literally says, “Faith is the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith goes beyond what our eyes can prove—it’s about trust in what we can’t see. Jesus even said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20:29). Some things are only understood through spiritual openness, not arguments.
Well, that be fine except not majority beleive in unicorns and we dont have people who do beleive in them writing legislation in accordance to what they think unicorns want…lolol

Psalms 90:1-2 [1](A Prayer of Moses the man of God.) Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. [2]Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
Thank you for posting this. Very honest and respectful young man.
I must say, based on my understanding of God's Word, I cannot see how a person can be a Christian, by that I don't mean just the label, but genuinely birn-again then not be a Christian.
You either are genuinely a Christian or you are not. Now you might have had an emotional, psychological, intellectual experience that causes you to think/believe you are a Christian. But if you genuinely receive Christ by faith, then Biblically speaking you are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and He comes to stay, not come and go. And one who is truly indwelt by the Spirit of God may well trip and fall into sin, as we all do, but to deny Christ after processing Christ I believe on the basis of scripture is impossible. In other words I can't see how one can be saved them unsaved.
You either are born-again, regenerated or you are not.
Once again Brother, imagery grateful for you posting this.
Yes, present evidence and there are people who can tell if the proof is valid or not, just present it and we can go from there.

You can’t understand with the mind those things that can only be felt in the heart.
When something cannot be proven its not literal but then when you read the passages about killing raping and slaving the thats not what he meant

God doesn't exist it's a fake story told by past family members. When growing up we see it's not true. God sucks
You want evidence for god, go as an atheist and defend Christianity…
