2days ago I said I will not pray again or ask God for anything because I'm going through financial struggles. God literally cut lose my some of my income I watch divine UK online live stream n we have this MISSION 365 as in reading bible for a whole year, they give 3- 4 verses daily n we are on 2kings which has this Elijah story. It inspired me so much, guys im not giving up on God or my prayer life, I know God will come through for me/us.

I once spoke with someone who studied in Bible school. Because of my curious mind, I couldn’t stop myself from asking about the passages in Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1:23.
From the verses I’ve read, this is why I asked: Why did the Messiah called Immanuel become Jesus, when if we look at the Hebrew alphabet, there is no letter J at all in the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. So it’s a big question why it became Jesus, when it should have been Immanuel or Amanoel.
Yes, we can read the name Jesus in our Bibles, in different translations or languages, but the name Immanuel can still be read in Isaiah 7:14 — that the Father Himself would give a sign that a virgin would conceive and give birth to a son, and his name would be called Immanuel.
And this name is also found in Matthew 1:23, just like what is written in Isaiah. But there’s an explanation that it means “God with us.” However, in Isaiah 7:14 it is clear that it is a Name, and that this is what the Messiah would be called when He is born. Yet in Matthew 1:25, the name became Jesus.
And the one who studied in Bible school said it’s because it’s English, that’s why it’s Jesus. But if we read the Bible, it clearly says in Acts 4:12 that there is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved.
And there’s a verse in John 5:43 that says He came in His Father’s name and you did not receive Him, but if another comes in his own name, you will receive him. If we think about it and pay attention to the whole world, who is known and what name has been accepted — isn’t it Jesus Christ?
Then it’s also written in Luke 24:47 that His name should be preached, beginning from Jerusalem. And if we understand these verses, we are preaching the wrong name, because it clearly says in Luke 24:47 that what should be preached to all nations is the name that comes from Jerusalem.
Others say it’s Yeshua, but that’s still wrong if we base it on Isaiah 7:14. The truth is really there and can be read, because there is no “God is with us” written in Isaiah — in Matthew 1:23 it is also a Name.
I tried translating “God is with us” on Google, and Immanuel didn’t come up.

I don't know my purpose in life, I'm constantly sick since I'm kid I went through surgery at the age of 12 n I still get sick alot, I sin I fail God, I fail exams, I fail at everything, I did accepted God at the age of 10 yrs, I lost in the way but I get bck to him always, I'm 27 yrs now, I in love with non Christian, which I won't married too since he is non Christian but breaking up is difficult right now as he is very good to me but part of me know it's a sin to be with him even as bf… I'm frustrated with myself and sick of my life , I lost hope and everything, I would give up everything for God, I don't want anything …. But living in pain is so tiredsom I want to be with God as much as I want to live and do good I feel like I'm worthless.
