This is an informative and very helpful interview with Barry Morton about two early Pentecostal frauds, John G. Lake, and John …

Excited to listen, brother. Your ministry has blessed me deeply in the past few months as my wife and I have come out of the WOF and prosperity gospel in this last year. Thank you!
Your interview failed to mention the invasion of the Kundalini demons to mimic supernatural manifestations among " the faithful" such as "slain in the spirit", shaking, jerking, flopping around like a fish out of water, etc. This Hindu god, Kundalini, has appeared in the 17th ce. in the Wesley, Edwards, Quackers/Shakers, MW Etter, Azusa, Kath Kuhlman—,holy rollers, Toronto Blessing, Lakeland Revival, etc. Dowie was involved with demons too…he was a admitted spiritualist trained by Thomas Walker in Australia in the 1880s…and NONE of "God's Generals" were born again!!!! https://youtu.be/2xN6RfeRTfU
I don't listen to Podcasts, just YouTube, but I can assure you… as a former pentecostal all of these videos helped me immensely!
The pentecostal world needs much more of this content so decieved people might be set free. Thanks for all you do Daniel!
P.S. it's one thing to argue doctrine and biblical events with pentecostals, but it's another to take doctrine and underline those newspaper articles as the clearest evidence of fraudulent "pentecostal" movements.
Despite these frauds, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We have to be careful, yes, and that’s what the Bible is for. Just because there are frauds, it doesn’t invalidate the truth.
The entire church is apostate and not of God but is of the world. Every denomination and every church. There is no truth coming from the curch, just deception. People just go from one deception right into another.
The only actual truth there is, is found in the Bible, not in any church. The entire church has a totally different religion to that of actual Biblical Christianity, and another gospel. Anyone and everyone in/of any church is in a 100% God opposing religion. It is all a counterfeit/antigod/anibible/antichrist religion. It is called scientism.
The entire churches christianity is under the 100% antigod/antibible/antichrist religion and authority of scientism. It is 100% opposed to, and against (antichrist) the truth of God and the Bible. You have all been deceived.
Huge thanks for republishing this afresh, I believe many of us will listen to it more than once as so much to take in! I also really appreciated the humour and surprised gasps at the truly scandalous accounts of fraudsters. Those historic events need to be known wider!! And that Ken Copeland, Todd White, Todd Bentley, Benny Hinn, Bethel are all modern branches of this bitter root!! This sophisticated manipulation of humans in need, by raising expectation + music + hype + stooges planted in audience + ensuring submission to the man at the centre of these circuses… is a cold evil
While I typically respect and believe Steve Kozar, It is obvious that this guy, Barry Morton is pretty much full of crap. Wringing body parts to breaking bones, and slitting throats??? Show me the evidence! That would have made the Christian and the secular HISTORY books. It would have been recorded as a massacre. Now even you could be giving your cause a bad name and place for ridicule, legitimately. Steve, maybe its time you hold yourself accountable for who you align with. This guys is obviously an research embellisher.
Do these people know that they are being fraudulent or are they under extreme delusion? The human mind/brain can really conjure up what it really wants to. I have subscribed to this channel, I'm so glad this is being talked about 👍🏼
I respectfully suggest that you look up Roberts Liardon's commentary on both of them. Yes, they both made mistakes, but I caution you against slandering them.
Steve, you mentioned John G Lake's connection with Washington state. And Cal Pierce and the healing rooms he started. That is in Spokane Washington. In fact John G Lake is buried in Spokane. When Pierce first came to Spokane he spent time sitting on Lake's grave meditating/praying trying to decerne if he was to move his family to Spokane and start the healing rooms. We live in Spokane and have heard him tell his story. We were part of a church, Zion Christian Center- name changed to Zion Spokane- they have a school patterned after Bethel school of the supernatural. Every year they take the students to the grave sight to get insight or just honor the memory of Lake. I used to be one of the guest speakers at the school teaching on dreams and visions. By the grace and mercy of God, we came to see that we were part of a cult. We left a couple of years ago and have found a really good church. We cannot thank God enough for His mercy towards us! If it wasn't for His mercy we'd still be in deception. We are so thankful for your work and ministry! You, Chris Rosebrough and Doreen Virtue are among those who help us get back on track. Thank you!
I hate to say it, but I tend to notice a lot of Pentacostals I grew up with falling for the modern conmen like this.
"Faith healers" that come to town, ask for a small fortune's worth of tithes (I saw one weave 7 or so bucket passes into a sermon), but don't actually heal anyone. People claiming to perform miracles and talk to God, but they won't be found traveling to hospitals or other places the tithes won't be had. They make up all sorts of ridiculous stories, and they just sort of believe it.
A lot of them are earnest Christians that are just trying to serve God or do good, but they have such poor discernment that they fall for anyone with an exciting enough message.
What I can’t understand is how do you fob off those who are healed of broken bones or dental work or raised from the dead etc it does happen miracles do occur but what about Kathryn kuhlman they say that aisles were left for wheelchairs and crutches I understand the quackery but Where does Azusa st fit into all of this I always thought that was the beginning of the revival of Pentecostalism But listening to this doesn’t appear the case ➕🌈🇦🇺🇮🇱
I was at a Pentecostal Sunday morning meeting recently, and the entire sermon was puting your type of message down, and encouraging attendees to always look for the good in things and people. It was a message birthed out of someone asking a pertinent question in a Bible study, and he didn't like the question because it exposed error. He closed the Sunday meeting with a prayer, and then claimed to "read the mind" of someone at the meeting, and said, 'Someone just thought, 'I don't need this!'" Pure control.
@ longsfortruth1 Are you totally anti pentecostal or is it just the frauds that your against? Also are you a cesarionist? Why haven't don't aren't these guys arrested & put in jail for fraud etc? This kind of fake healing is fraud & why are the authorities not getting involved like the would with other frauds? I'm saddened to hear these cases of frauds & I believe People like Bill Johnson others like him should be arrested & tired in a court of law. May the Lord have mercy on us & expose the frauds & grant them true repentance.
Unfortunately for Christianity, the internet is helping people see that none of it is true. A virgin birth? Come on. You would never believe that if you hadn't been raised to believe it.
If someone has faith in God, as Christ said, they can be healed. If a fake minister delivers the true Gospel, they can be saved. If a fake minister delivers the Word and a person is healed (your faith has saved you), then it’s still God Who healed.
So, the question isn’t whether God can heal by faith. It’s, what sort of minister is going to take the money and run. Even Paul said some preach Christ for money and some for notoriety.
People know TB Joshua was using satanic powers & he built a hotel that fell down & killed over 100 people but he built extra floors & it was unsafe plus lots of fake prophecies but he died & others are carrying on he is false ministry

A disgusting dark history of Pentecostalism

Great topic, very interesting.
Yo I live in Indianapolis to. Huh. Also I was a Pentecostal but now I'm a Baptist

Thanks so much for sharing this!!
Please investigate Maria Woodworth Etter. Was she too a charlatan?
I remember years ago watching Gloria Copeland and she was promoting a book by John G Lake. Hmmm ….go figure 🤔

Hi. What music is played in beginning of your video?
I was at a Pentecostal Sunday morning meeting recently, and the entire sermon was puting your type of message down, and encouraging attendees to always look for the good in things and people. If Jesus was a Jew, how could he believe in the trinity?
