Also heard of the movie as a cult classic, never watched it and never thought of it as going down the route it did. Also thought it was the 80's Mean Girls.
Heathers has a lot in common with ROBOCOP, oddly enough. Both are ultraviolent and loaded with nasty, cynical, over the top satire. Another great cult movie from the 80s… REPO MAN (1984). Its totally bugfuck nuts, but in a different way than this was.
