I love the hunger games. I’ve read all of them and they are really good! Some series that I haven’t finished, but am really enjoying, is caraval, the inheritance games, and the naturals. I think rn Caraval is one of, if not my favorite! But I also thought I’d mention that Romance books by Melissa Ferguson are really good and always clean, sweet romances. I’ve read 3 by her so far and I always enjoy them! My favorite by her is the perfect rom-com. But meet me in the margins is also super cute! You should definitely try them. Melissa Ferguson is a Christian lady as well. Anyways I’m 16 and these are the books I have been enjoying!
Thank you for making this video! As a Christian adult guy that read some books that had spice, I decided to do the same thing like you to read more clean books.
Your recommendation for the book “On the Fence” made the book sound great. I gave the book a shot and now I think I have a new genre that I like!
I just saw your newest video about authors you recommend and I think I am going to try some of the Rom-Coms from the authors you mentioned.
I guess I never tried this genre since it was always stigmatized in the past that “guys don’t read romance”. I have to say that I disagree with that statement now. 😁😁😁
I am a Teen above the age of 15. So far I have started reading, and thanks to people like you I have not ran into any spice or bad words. My favorite books are from Stephanie Garber, The Caraval series, and Once upon a Broken heart series. (Both of those series actually are intertwined, So Caraval goes first.) So, both series have no spice. The caravan series does mention a witch, but she is only told in back stories, so she never appears in the books. I totally recommend this for fantasy loving readers. Again, Thank you for recommending and warning us about these books. 😁
Anyone looking for a clean YA book for Christian teens, i recommend Camp Chronicles:Shadows No Longer by Ronan Jericho. It's an amazing book, plus the author is a Chrisitan as well, she added some Christian elements to it, prayers, verses! it's really good, HIGHLY recommend! its not boring or predictable, turly a a work of art! Another one is the Dragons in our midst series, it is soooooooo gooooood. like the author is amazing!!! i read alll of them and i was starstruck. it's also christian-fiction as well, i love how the author implements christian values into the book. i HIGHLY Recommend.
PLSSSS READ CAMP CHRONICLES BY RONAN JERICHO, she might release the next book this year!!!! pls make it FAMOUS. it deserves it. 😊😊❤❤
I really appreciate this video! I've been struggling to find good reads, and this video was very helpful I really liked The Talionis series. It was self published, super clean, no language, a tiny bit of romance but no kissing or anything, and it's Christian. Keeper of the Lost Cities is good too. The CandyMakers was good. Raising Dragons by Brian Davis, was good. It's a Christian fantasy. Kyra Swansons books are good. They do have magic and romance, and My Favorite Color is Your Something Blue is good.
Im 14 and some of my favorite books would be the once upon a broken heart series. It’s completely clean and there’s no language. Betting on you is pretty good. Powerless by Lauren Roberts is really good but the third book has spice and I did not like that book.
I’ve read The Rose Bargain but I don’t ever recall there being a semi- spice scene? I loved the book so much and super excited for The Thorn Queen though.
I recently read a really good clean fantasy romance called half a soul by Olivia Atwater. At first, I wasn’t sure I would like it, but it was recommended by my mom and I eventually started and it turned out to be one of my favorites. It’s a Regency fantasy Romance.
thank you so much for posting videos like these, especially when so many books nowadays are so openly explicit. I'm seventeen, and find it unfortunately very hard to find books with good and wholesome content. I'm gonna have to check out By Your Side by Kasie West because it sounds like something I could relate to. Also, a few of my own book recs!! I really love historical romance— ~ Marry In Haste by M. A. Nichols (marriage of convenience, grumpy x sunshine, clear character development, etc.) ~ What The Wind Knows by Amy Harmon (time travel, Ireland,—I can't remember if there was any language, but if so, very mild)
Fiction in general— ~ The Blue Castle by L. M. Montgomery (must I say more?) ~This Life of Mine by Victoria Lynn (low fantasy I think, very deep Christian morals—I cried) And pretty much any book by Irene Hannon for contemporary romance—they're all soo good!! Anyway, thanks again!!
Loved Nadine Brandes Fawkes… especially because my birthday is Guy Fawkes day so love that story in history and she did it so good! Elemental magic is my favourite and the “white magic” reveal a so good! The Nightmare Virus is her newest and it’s kinda sci-fi but on my TBR, as is Wishtress.
Curious if you’ve read any fairytale retelling (which is more indie but I thought maybe?)
thank u! You should read Just Friends by haley pham! I just read it. its good! the words are alittle awkward at times because its her first book. Im 13 1/2 and i will take your advice and im a christian. thank you! Ill probably buy A Thousand Heartbeats. That sounded good!
Hi! I’m 14, this video was so extremely helpful for a girl who loves romance/fantasy and this helps, I feel like everyone lies about a book being clean but I can just tell that you are genuinely being truthful and I love that! Some of the books I thought I would share about that are being thrown in my face are like the powerless series, the shatter me series. I am going to be subscribing I really enjoyed this!
Hey!! I'm a teen and I really appreciated this video. My favourite books are all of Stephanie Garber's books, Better than the movies and We Were Liars ( this one had a few of content issues which I wasn't completely comfortable with but the plot was incredible.) I also just finished First Date and Starring Me by Krista Mcgee- clean christian books with sprinklings of romance and they were SO good!
I’m a teen and I don’t mind some cussing and I don’t like spice but if it’s only one page I thinks it’s okay because it’s easy to skip, but everyone has limits
I think that spice in popular ya books has become very normalised , so many teens like me are just told to not be prudes. So l am now trying to focus on obscure books that contain little to no spice such as the calculation of you and me by Serena kaylor ,first to fall by laney hatcher etc . I did read fourth wing and acotar unaware of their content.
Hi, I am an Aussie Christian author who has brought out a clean fiction, faith-filled series that combines Stranger Things and Pretty in Pink. 💌 Sincerely Yours… Written In The Stars and Inked In Destiny
A YA Supernatural Mystery Romance by Sonia D. Hebdon
If Hawkins had a sister town, it would be Haven Cove.
What if you weren’t real?
Haven Cove, 1989 — a seemingly cozy seaside town hiding dark secrets. Writers are disappearing, and a secret society might know why.
Seventeen-year-old Josie Worthington has always been a rebel—obsessed with ‘80s alternative music and dreaming of becoming a writer. When she lands a cadetship at the local newspaper to pen the Sincerely Yours advice column, her life takes a chilling turn.
Enter Blaine Cordwell, the mysterious son of a famous L.A. rock star, running from the spotlight. Drawn to Josie’s honesty and fearless spirit, Blaine finds in her something real—something the rest of his world lacks.
But when anonymous letters start arriving at the paper, warning Josie she’ll vanish forever unless she and Blaine uncover the truth about Haven Cove, their connection becomes a lifeline. Together, they must face the darkness beneath the town’s picture-perfect surface.
Packed with ‘80s nostalgia, slow-burn romance, and a mixtape that rivals Stranger Things, this unforgettable story will tug at your heartstrings and leave you questioning what’s real—and what’s written in destiny.

Maggie O. 5.0 out of 5 stars A Love Story Written Across Worlds Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2026 Format: KindleVerified Purchase Sincerely Written in the Stars and Inked in Destiny! completely pulled me in from start to finish. The writing is beautifully done, especially in Josie’s responses in her advice column, “Sincerely Yours,” where her voice feels thoughtful and sincere. I especially loved the music references woven throughout, including The Cure, Kate Bush, Journey, and other nostalgic favorites that so much reminded me of my own teenage years and added an emotional, throwback feel to the story. The author is wonderfully descriptive with the characters’ clothes and settings, making every scene vivid and immersive. The supernatural element becomes even more intriguing when they discover a portal to other stories that exist on another plane, connecting present-day writers with those from the past who still long for their stories to be told. While trying to finish these stories, Josie must complete one to save two trapped souls, thereby raising the stakes and adding a slightly creepy edge. Her strong faith and conversations about heaven add meaningful depth to the story. At its heart, the love between Blaine and Josie feels deep, destined, and truly enviable.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/239225048-sincerely-yours-written-in-the-stars-and-inked-in-destiny
I want to read Caraval and Once Upon a Broken Heart and more Booktok books like that but I don’t know if they are actually appropriate for a 14 year old. I don’t want to read anything spicy and minimal cuss words. Also A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder
I definitely feel hypocritical telling myself reading smutty books is okay because it’s not real life porn. But it really is. Guard your hearts don’t let yourself be deceived 😔
Really appreciated this video! I love that you kept it spoiler-free and shared recommendations from a Christian perspective. If you ever make another one, I’d also love to see some Christian YA recommendations that aren’t mainly focused on romance. Thanks for putting this together!
Hi Oceana, I hope you are doing well. I'm a first time Author and just signed my first publishing contract with an Australian publisher. I was wondering if I could send you a review copy of my book? 😊
I am not a teen or young adult, but I sure wish I was haha (In my 40's). Some of my favorite reads are: Love & Other Words, Just for the Summer, Once Upon A Broken Heart, Better than the Movies, Betting On You, A Good Girls Guide to Murder, .. those are a few of my favorite reads as a newish reader. I only began reading about 3 years ago.😊
I love the Wingfeather Saga and The Hunger Games!!!!! Those are some of my favorite books ever! And the Maze Runner has been pretty good so far but I’m only on the 4th book (first prequel)!!!!❤
I LOVE the Rivers of time series! There is also a sequel series that is also really good!
The traitors game trilogy is so good like I recommend it so much!!! Its by Jennifer A Neilson and I've loved her books for a while now.
