In 1985, I had a friend forced into one of these places. She was kidnapped from her bed, in the middle of the night, by masked men. Thrown into a van with zero personal possessions and whisked away. Her parents watched it all happen while she was dragged away screaming. She was “hanging around the wrong people.” That’s why they took her away.

12:27 This is a misconception. Chicken nuggets are fully cooked prior to being frozen, per federal requirement & you’re just reheating already cooked food. You can still get sick by not properly heating them first, however there’s a big difference between eating chicken nuggets that haven’t been heated properly & eating raw, uncooked chicken.

My cousin went to teen challenge. It did help him, but he was already an evangelical Christian. After teen challenge he became a missionary overseas. I wonder if teen challenge is a breeding ground for missionaries.
this is disgusting. I work in behavioral health for kids k-12, at an actual good and therapeutic day treatment program (attend during the day and then go home). I can't imagine any of my clients going to place like this. it makes me sick. yes we have some very challenging clients with difficult behaviors to manage but they do NOT deserve this maltreatment and EXTRA trauma on top of what they already have..
The background music is very distracting, especially near end when it becomes as loud as your speech. I personally don't think it is necessary at all, the content speaks for itself without outside emotional manipulation.

It was horrific, traumatic, and depressing, but I could barely describe it because [TRAUMA] lol. My story is one of thousands too. But on the bright side, it led to my deconstruction! Children are not treated as human beings in our society. They occupy a position slightly above pets. The whole troubled teen industry is an engine of abuse owned and operated by the scum of the earth.

I truly believe the only reason I and my older brother didn’t end up in the Christian troubled teen industry was because our parents couldn’t afford the costs and were too deep in debt to try. How parents can allow this is truly beyond me
If given a choice, I would rather be imprisoned than take part in a Christian program. I know someone who was involved in Teen Challenge and they have shared their negative experiences with me. Although I no longer keep in touch with them, their time there was not a positive one.

So many of those reaasons for incarceration are symptoms of ab*se, others are just common neurodivergent traits. Horrific
