I mean to be fair seeing the scenes of American Psycho without any context of the rest of the movie would probably look incredibly strange, hell the finished product is pretty strange too. I don't think anyone could predict it was going to be as good as it ended up being.
I absolutely understand that as a preteen girl, horniness were involved as well, but his performance as Theodore "Teddy" Lawrence in Little Women… When he was conveying his love to Wynona Ryder's Josephine "Jo" March. I BAWLED.
i honestly never understood what 'good acting' meant till i watched "the fighter". i knew bale was in it before watching but after a while i got so immersed into the character that i completely forgot that dickie was a character and not a real person

There is a Art to acting. It is very hard to quantify what it actually is, or who is capable of it. (There are so many different actors, who are undeniably skilled, who have very different approaches to there art) I think big movies have the tendency (nowadays),to be very overdramatized, to the point, where I personally don’t believe the character. Loud and noisy reactions, have the tendency to make the scene unrealistic in my opinion. I think he did a fantastic performance in American psycho. He made me as a viewer, feel uneasy, and that was his intention.
