  1. nothing fantastical but if God was real would you be friends with a person who fucked over a guy like Job based on a bet? Especially as bad as Job got fucked over? How about would you buy a car nobody ever let you see but guaranteed was the best car ever and you would never need another one again but wouldn't get it until AFTER you died? Exactly. Use your head a little bit.

  2. All you goofy atheists are missing a few key points.
    1. No amount of cpr will resuscitate you after your brain is fried, so Mike is clearly not leaving room for a hypothetical resuscitation.

    2. You say “Oh, just because he rose from the dead, doesn’t mean it was God who raised him.” That completely ignores the fact that he predicted his own death, fulfilled hundreds of prophecies and performed other miracles. If Mike’s hypothetical is completely parallel with the real thing that happened 2000 years ago, all of that would be the same. The book of Isaiah, written hundreds of years before Jesus literally talks about a God man that would be born of a virgin and die on a tree to take the punishment for our sins.

You’re being overly skeptical of something due to your bias. You don’t need a 100% guarantee of something to know it’s true. We don’t have a 100% guarantee of a lot of things we know are true. If Jesus rose in Mike’s hypothetical, what reason would you have to deny it was God when Jesus and prophecy already claimed it would be God? The only reason is your radical unbelief. There’s a reason that God doesn’t show signs to atheists to convince them of himself. It would do no good, because you aren’t atheist because of a lack of evidence. You’re atheist because you hate God and you hate his law and anything that would keep you from living your life for yourself. Your minds are enslaved to satan. You are not able to understand spiritual things because you’re spiritually dead. That’s why god said that he used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. God knows it’s ridiculous to believe that He raised a 1st century Jew from the dead. He’s seeking to save those desperate and humble enough to believe in a fairytale for redemption. Not those so stuck up, arrogant, selfish, and overly skeptical to deny a miracle even if it happens before their very eyes.

  3. Why was this hypothetical even asked? It still wouldnt somehow prove the bibles claim about jesus and it certainly doesn't follow that a god exist. People spontaneously wake up after being dead a real long time and we don't know why. Doesn't prove a god though.

  4. So an atheist seeing a man electrocuted and very obviously dead return to life would look past the facts that they just observed and say they are not sure of what caused it but it doesn't have to be God it could have been add your own imaginary conclusion (here) however there is no conclusion outside of God.

  5. His heart is hardened only God would have the power to have mercy over Him. He lied when he said he was being honest, he wasn't being honest because he stopped there and didn't continue to search for how He resurrected. There are scientists and therapists who would test Jesus's mental state if cleared then if Jesus performed miracles in front of His eyes then what? Disbelieve his own eyes? This is why God said walk by Faith and not by sight.

  6. This is just sad. Cutting out parts of the clip and the full response to defame Matt is very dishonest. And if someone takes more than 3 seconds to think about it, it would make sense. Is a resurrection impossible without the intervention of a God? No, we do it every day, although with shorter periods of time in between death. I bet that if there were a more advanced civilization, they could do just that.

It could also be that you are being cast into an illusion, have schizophrenia, or are seeing things that are not there. These scenarios are extremely unlikely, but they are more likely that something that has been proven billions of times to not happen. Anyway, these "group" sightings have happened numerous times in the past, of things that could not happen naturally. Some of these things contradict Christian doctrine. There is actually a guy alive today that over a million people think is an actual God. It just shows how gullible people can be to an idea.

The existence of an omnipotent God interfering in the world is impossible. There is no reason for a God to do anything at all. If he is already perfect, then what could possibly be gained from doing anything else? If he was perfect, then he'd just exist and do nothing for eternity, as nothing could possibly incentivize such a being to do anything at all because he is already perfect.

  7. I think he’s referring to the fact that some people who are clinically dead regain consciousness having had a near-death experience (or not). It doesn’t mean that every single person who comes back to life after having been pronounced dead is Jesus.

  8. the gospel is we’re sinners and God must judge sin righteously, but out of His love He sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins, be buried, and resurrect, and if you believe in Him and have faith in Him, your sins will be washed away and you’ll have eternal life with Jesus in heaven
