  1. Great talk on such a relevant topic! Great job!

"… or things they did way back in the 1900's…"

Ah the good old 1900's when some of us used to spend 3+ hours on the phone (landline) talking to friends we had just talked to at school, or when our parents complained about the dial-up internet usage.

  2. The issue is, that addiction is required to function in society in most large countries right now. It's kind of disturbing when you think about it. It would be like if you had to take oxycodone before allowed into a job interview. Not having a cell cuts you off from job opportunities, safety/location assistance (ie if you have kids you'll understand this one for sure, I need a phone on me always), financial control/information, and speed/information required today for occupations or even daily tasks (like signing up for and getting to appointments). One example is many of the covid tests, which, regardless of your views on, many employers required before returning to work. They required the use of the VAULT website or app to submit the test as well as an email for timely results. Yes, there may be many issues surrounding phone usage but the answer unfortunately can't be "just stop then." I honestly wish there was an earnest discussion about things we could do to combat these issues.

  3. I am so addicted that I don't pay attention to school anymore, assignments are neglected and even worse I don't have the motivation to go to school when my other friends have a lot of ambition. I'm really confused with myself, my life is only about my phone and can't focus on reality
