It’s not uncommon today for people to claim Jesus never specified that homosexuality is a sin and therefore it’s ok to be a gay …

  1. Jesus didn’t specifically say homosexuality because the word didn’t exist, they used other terms and Jesus says here:

“For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭15‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

He compares sexuality immortality to murder and includes: homosexual behavior, fornication, adultery.. anything outside of marriage basically.
And as you said, affirms the correct order of things later in the book of Matthew.

By telling us what to do and how to act, He is saying anything outside of that is sin! So since he never affirms homosexuality either, that simply means: don’t do it, it’s not Godly nor part of our Fathers original design for humanity.

  2. I thought the "one flesh" was a term for a "Offspring" or "Child". And that ONLY Man and Woman could have it, so that if they want to have biological kids, ONLY Man and Woman could do it.

  3. The books of the Bible were written individually over the course of 1,500 years, and Jesus didn't write a single word of it.

Individuals from different backgrounds and generations wrote it. When you tie everything each of these individuals wrote together, you get a mix of different views. Making the entire thing highly subjective to opinion.

What isn't subjective is the obvious:

"Man can do what he wants, but he cannot will what he wants" – Schopenhauer

If someone is hungry, they cannot negate it by simply saying "I'm not hungry."

They can certainly choose not to eat, but it doesn't change the fact that they are hungry until they actually eat something.

Being gay isn't a choice. When the human body decides what it is attracted to, there's no changing it.

Free will is redundant. We are free to do whatever we want, but we can never change what we actually want.

As far as religion goes, it's man made. If you want people to live a certain way all you have to do write a book, and convince them that if they don't they will suffer for eternity in an afterlife by the hands of a being that supposedly loves every human unconditionally.

  4. (John 12: 26) "If anyone would minister to me, let him follow me, and where I am, there my minister will be also. If anyone would minister to me, the Father will honor him."
While some people may be gay and may not be 'Christian', we must remember to remain Christ like and let all who want to learn about, him follow him. Jesus never turned anyone away, he taught everyone.😇

  5. If I punched someone yesterday before the term “punch” was invented today, does that mean I never punched the person since yesterday they didn’t have a word for it? No. It’s the action, not the word that matters. God clearly states the action of same sex intimacy is sinful.

  6. The greatest threat to any relationship is lust. Regardless of what your sexual preferences are, nothing is without sin. God will only condemn the misuse of your sexuality, again, regardless of what that is. The belief that homosexuality is a sin, is the reason why LGBT people have difficulties accepting God, because they believe that their existence alone is problematic.

The word Homosexuality was later added to the Bible in the early 1940s. The original verse "man shall not lay with man" does not refer to homosexuality. It is one of many verses throughout the Bible that was taken out of context.

  7. paul was a mass murderer
we come out of the water; the womb- a new person. this is the first baptism where you get your eternal spirit. our purpose in the temporal are to be good stewards to each other & the planet. to create heaven on earth as it is in the light.
when we leave our body for the last time at transition we can tie up loose ends & travel the world till third sunrise ascension to the portal; the lake of fire on the sun.
those who remain are ghosts for a time because this world is no longer their proper dwelling.

  8. That's an easy question to answer. Yes, Christians can do whatever they want, including being gay. The reason I say this is because you are using the Hebrew scriptures to say they can't. The problem with this is that the Hebrew scriptures are just that the Hebrew scriptures, meaning the Christian religion, have no business hijacking them. Why is it that the Christian religion is the only religion that steals someone else's writings. As a Hebrew Israelite, I have always asked myself that question

  9. God is a God of love, and that means He does not stop loving you because you are questioning your sexuality.
Having the thought, “I might be gay,” or experiencing same-sex attraction isn't something you necessarily choose. A thought, feeling, or attraction that comes into your mind doesn't automatically make you sinful. There is a difference between experiencing a feeling and choosing what you do with it.

If you're confused about your sexuality, you don't have to panic or immediately label yourself. You can simply say, “I'm experiencing feelings that I don't completely understand.” That's okay.

The Bible says, “God is love” (1 John 4:8), and Romans 8:38–39 teaches that nothing can separate us from God's love. God's love isn't something you earn by having perfectly ordered thoughts or feelings. He loved us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8).

At the same time, Christianity has traditionally taught that sexual intimacy belongs within marriage between a man and a woman. So there is a distinction between saying that certain sexual behaviour is considered sinful and saying that a person who experiences same-sex attraction is hated or rejected by God. Those are not the same thing.

You shouldn't hear, “You might be gay, therefore God hates you.” That doesn't reflect the character of a God who is love.
Instead, you can bring your uncertainty directly to God:
“God, I don't understand what I'm feeling. I'm confused and maybe even scared. Please stay with me and help me understand.”
You don't have to hide these feelings from Him.

And you don't have to figure everything out today. You don't have to immediately choose a label, and you don't have to live in constant fear that every thought means you've sinned or that God has abandoned you.

If you're wondering whether you might be gay, God still loves you. You are not beyond His love, and you don't need to be afraid to come to Him with your questions.

  10. I'm okay with us just getting to the point where Christianity is a myth, and we no longer care what Jesus and the Bible say anyway. It's been 2000 years. Maybe it's time for a religion that can be supported by current scientific facts.

  11. K so it my be a sin, but God made us like this I didn't ask to be attracted to the same gender I had a bit of depression when I realized because everyone says it's a sin but our brains kinda work like that

  12. Is being gay something you're born with, or do you become gay later in life? Personally, I feel like I've been attracted to the same sex for as long as I can remember. I’ve grown up in the church since the day I was born. In my mind, Christianity and being gay just don't mix. But honestly, I'm not even sure if Christianity is real. At the same time, I'm terrified that God might actually exist. My entire family is Christian, and I feel so completely isolated. I'm scared of what my future holds. I’ve literally cried my eyes out praying for faith, but it's just not there. Im 17years old

  13. I found out myself in my middle schooling and i cried i prayed i search for the answer and i have gone through difficult nights depression, some says thats a sin some says we cant choose freedom of love , the love i wanted is just to be with that person forever hold hands enjoy every moments happy together sad together like one body without sex and other stuff like that just a pure gay couple life!

  14. Jesus said MARRIAGE was between a man and a woman. Jesus was the ultimate rebel who was also willing to speak up for people. I AM willing to so called pit him against Paul the apostle because PAUL ISN'T JESUS! Paul's opinion and Jesus' words that actually he said are two different things so Paul was not good with the gays. God directly in the old testimate addresses it as sin. BUT EVERYONE FORGETS Jesus died for our what? SINS it doesn't give us free rain to sin but it does mean if you truly believe and repent you are welcome to have forgiveness and live in the house of the lord. We all have sin thus why Jesus says 'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone and no one casts a stone. So I would say it isn't encouraged nor are a lot of things like speeding BUT JESUS LOVES EVERYONE and he would embrace EVERYONE including the LGBTQ+ community because his ability to love is beyond ours. God's love is unquestionable so of you want to be like Jesus look passed your bias and approach with love. My daughter is a Christian and a Lesbian she battles with this hard! This is her battle God gave her and she wrestles with that every day but what we focus on is JESUS loves her no matter what even if she goes to Hell he loves her and she says if God doesn't like it then I will burn but it doesn't stop me believing. If God hates that I had sex out of wedlock and was in fact deviant in his eyes I will burn but I will burn believing in him. I do not believe he doesn't exist and I do not believe he hates me or my daughter. God has a path for us and he is all powerful and we should trust it. My daughter does and nothing but good has come of that. What we have learned is to trust God better and put it in his hands not attempt to change what he has made. He made us as we are and we are grateful for that. Let God guide you and Paul the apostle needs to learn his personal opinons do not belong in GOD'S book!

  15. I keep seeing people here saying “the Bible says homosexuality is sinful” or “God defines marriage as between a man and a woman.” Fine — you are free to believe that and live according to your faith. But why should your religious belief determine whether two consenting adults who do not share your religion can legally marry? A gay couple getting married does not stop you from being Christian, attending church, reading the Bible or having a heterosexual marriage. Nobody is asking you to enter a same-sex marriage. So what actual harm does our marriage cause you? Religious freedom should protect your right to practise Christianity, not give Christianity authority over everybody else's civil life.

  16. No, they can't. When we get saved, we leave our sins at the foot of the cross. We don't repent of our sins (ANY type of sin) & put our faith in Jesus Christ but then continue living like we did before. If we're truly saved, there will be changes in our lives. 2 Corinthians 5:17. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

  18. 19. Sexual orientation Is a trait a person does not choose and cannot choose to change. That is what the medical associations have long explained. Conservative ex-gay ministries claimed for 40 years praying, repenting and being born again would change a person's sexual orientation. The ex-gay leaders admitted on TV (I was on the show) no Christians experienced a change of sexual orientation via Christ (or anything else). Now we know what ancient people did not. Sexual orientation is a real trait, a part of some people's lives. Some are aware of it in early childhood, most discover (not choose) their sexual orientation somewhere between the ages of 10 to 15. These innocent virgin children are told they are sinners, evil abominations and God hates them. Many try and pray and repent over and over again, get born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, endure deliverance ordeals, go to great lengths to be straight. Never works. Time to start accepting and affirming LGBTQIA people in church. The list of churches which do so is very long and growing rapidly. It's about time.
