  1. That’s absolutely a great tip. I found is very useful to have two different versions one is comfortable with specially as English is my second language and I do read in English. Thanks for sharing!

  2. What you do with ESV and NLT, is what I do with NKJV and NLT, Ashley. English is my second language so seeing someone who has English as their first language, do this too is actually so cool.😊

  3. A quick example for you :

    Genesis 16:12

    # Existing English translations say this :

    KJV
12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
    ESV
12 He shall be a wild donkey of a man, his hand against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen."
    NLT
12 This son of yours will be a wild man, as untamed as a wild donkey! He will raise his fist against everyone, and everyone will be against him. Yes, he will live in open hostility against all his relatives.”
    MSG
12 He'll be a bucking bronco of a man, a real fighter, fighting and being fought, Always stirring up trouble, always at odds with his family."
    CSB
12 This man will be [like] a wild ass. His hand will be against everyone, and everyone's hand will be against him; he will live at odds with all his brothers.

    # But the correct translation is this :

( He lives as a good man, and his hand is to everyone, and the hand of everyone is through him, and he lives with the children of all his brothers )

This is a word-for-word translation of the text

  4. I am still confused as to why resuming the word of God is valid. In the bible it says not to modify its word. I copy verses that i like or that i want to study deeper but even highlighting makes me wonder if I'm ignoring the rest. It can get so confusing 😢

  5. Excellent study tip. I believe this is what God would want=open ourselves for God to Spirituality minister us. There’s a practical side why we should seek God’s wisdom. Are all commissioned to translate fiercely dedicated to accuracy? No, not because someone said so. Owning a Bible that you can’t follow a sermon, bible study or isolated scripture of the day is how most of us find out.

  6. I have a Kings James study version but need a magnifying glass because the book printer’s idea of larger print isn’t. I can’t read anything even the tabs. Abundance of study references a lot I don’t understand. If I want to know what our Pastors had to learn (deep dive Theology class) I go looking for the Doctors out there willing to post their Bible studies or answer tough questions. After seeing it all mapped out, I realize the Bible can engage a physicist as easy as a baby Christian. It’s amazing how much information we miss.
