The Amish world has always fascinated outsiders with its insular community and 18th century lifestyle that shuns the temptations …

  1. A gripping movie. Rachel, a young Amish girl, is being pressured to marry her rapist. Her community blames her for "tempting" him, instead of offering her the protection and support she needs. Although this movie could be a trigger to women and men who have been victimized, it is a powerful and beautiful film about a young girl who learns her true worth.

  2. If the parents only think that the daughters tempt men and the daughters are punished. How does that teach the daughters that it's wrong for the men not to get punished. But, it's okay for the men to be forgiven and the daughters shamed. I can not trust men in my life because I was not believed that I was sexually abused not only by my dad but, also by an uncle on my dad's side of the family. I was only a child. How could I know what tempting meant at 5 years old when I can remember the abuse started.

  3. Got to love a movie based on interviews with someone well known for the further exploitation of Amish victims. I know some of the stories this is based on and they are not her own to share.
