As an American, I'm genuinely trying to understand the cultural context behind some Nollywood movies. I've noticed that in many storylines, women seem expected to endure a husband's infidelity or mistreatment and ultimately forgive him.
I understand that the husband repented in the movie, and I do believe repentance and forgiveness are important. My question is more about why so many of these storylines seem to place the burden on the woman to endure, forgive, and restore the relationship, while her pain and choices sometimes receive less attention. I'm genuinely trying to understand whether this reflects cultural values, religious beliefs, or simply common storytelling themes in Nollywood.
I'm curious about something I've noticed in some Nollywood movies. Why do mothers often seem to have so much influence over their adult children's decisions, especially regarding marriage and family matters? Is this a reflection of certain cultural traditions, respect for elders, family expectations, or is it mainly a storytelling theme? I'd appreciate hearing perspectives from people who are familiar with these cultures.
I really love this movie. It shows weakness, it shows strength a d it shows consequences and forgiveness and mercy.. It also shows that Satan doesn't like Unity and family so whatever it takes he will try his uttermost to destroy it but on the other side it's up to you if you want to give in by giving in to Satan's lies and destroy your home or marriage or friendship and give up. I will encourage married people to fight for your marriage as long as you know God join you together, let no one, no devil put assunded. Just remember to error is human to forgive is divine.
First mistake never go over alone by yourself to anyone house as a pastor or as a believer in Christ of the opposite sex. Second never be alone with an ex because soul ties are real if it was not broken . Lastly respect your marriage temptation don’t care how anointed you are or the title you carry in the church.
Everyone keeps excusing his actions, but at times we excuse too much, Jesus said resist the devil and he shall flee, yes we can fall short yes we are still imperfect but when the Holy Spirit is in full control of our bodies temptation will not be so hard to overcome…we need to stop giving the enemy foothold, the Bible says let not your good be evil spoken of, he should have stayed away…
I don't understand women. You divorced your husband for cheating on you, then went ahead to become pregnant for a married man, and a baby mama. How do women think?? I'm curious.
So does this mean that Pregnancy was the reason he repented? If Amaka wasn't pregnant Pastor David would have swept the sin under the carpet of hypocraisy and continued serving? 🤔 He would not have confessed to his wife & the church leaders about his infidelity? 🤔
When a spouse cheats it breaks the covenant because now a soul tie has been formed outside of the marriage. Trust is gone and now an open door is there for the enemy. Cheating is going against the body of your spouse . Disease is real and the faithful spouse don’t deserve you to play with their health. If you stay it’s up to you and God. Do whatever he tells you to do. If you leave that’s your choice because the word of God said you can. You can forgive your spouse but you will need the hand of God to restore the marriage if you stay.
Some marriages where a spouse cheats God may tell the husband or wife to stay.While other marriages when the spouse cheats God will tell the husband or wife to leave that marriage. So remember your marriage is not everyone else’s marriage,it’s not one solution fits all. Go to the Lord for direction on what to do.
Powerful message at the end about forgiveness. You forgive but also use wisdom and let the Holy Spirit guide you. Forgiveness doesn’t mean you allow people to hurt you.Loving them from a distance might be protection for your own soul.

One of the better Christian movies i have seen. Like the fact scriptures were includes and the cerebral tone of the movie. Very beautiful.
I think it had a wonderful message. The man was very repentant unlike most people when they make their mistakes.
