I think this boils down to 2 questions: are you exposing your body to get guys to look at you ( which I think that's the motivation in most cases of hanging out boobs and skirts to the crotch) and secondly, would you be comfortable sitting down next to Jesus dressed this way? I just can't get comfortable with the fact that God thinks it's okay to expose those parts of the body that are designed to be kept private . I think it's a given that there's a reason women dress provocatively and if they say they do it so they can feel good about themselves, that typically means that they think men approve.
This was a great podcast! I have been battling for weeks on what to do concerning how I dress, but I didn’t know where to go in the Word to gain clarity. Thank you both for this teaching and understanding. Sadie you speak so well and I can truly see the Holy Spirit working within you. You are beautiful inside and out, both you and your mother🥰Continue being a light and sharing Gods love. Thank you again and God bless you all 🙏🏽💗💗💗
This is going to be a very sad story…. Just a few days ago, someone I loved very much left me. He was an Apostolic/Pentecostal, and I was a Christian/pentacostal/ (believing in the trinity). We loved eachother so much 😢. But he wasn’t used to being with someone who would wear “jeans” or light makeup, or dainty earrings. The apostolics are very strict. Women can’t even cut their hair… but after all the months of being in love, him and I couldn’t put our mind aside. Every time I had jeans on.. I knew it would bother him. And every time it would bother me because I don’t see jeans on women wrong. I had a razor back dress on that wasn’t short and he told me he doesn’t “agree” with it. But my heart was after Jesus., my heart yarns to be loved and to love. My heart has never felt wanted until I met him. But because of his up bringing and my up bringing… we ended our love. I still love him… but I knew I could never be Apostolic because I do believe that Jesus has a father, and I could never deny the Holy Spirit because the word says I could never be forgiven if I deny that the Holy Spirit exists. I didn’t know Gods plans for us, and a part of me knew that maybe this would happen.. but i didn’t want it too because of how much I loved him. So here I am watching a video on modesty… knowing that I really don’t understand why things had to happen. 😢
I was married for 21 years and he hurt my heart by having 5 affairs 2 were l thought my friends. ALSO being married he was abusive in our marriage. He gave divorce papers and l was alone and 3,000 miles away from my family.
How do you recommend talking to young girls about how they dress. I really felt the part where you said that sometimes people bribing attention to how you dress can sometimes make you want to push the limit.
As a parent that’s something I fear. While it’s easy to talk to my 12 year old about staying true to herself and picking clothes she wants to wear based on who she is and not what she feels is acceptable in culture.
But then there are other times where she LOVES something that I don’t think it’s appropriate for her age so I have to say No. And then I hear the “you don’t let me where what I want, I thought it was about me and what I like and not what other people think”
God is the same yesterday today and forever. Decency is to cover up, we cannot be a stumbling block and our brothers, and sisters in Christ the world (darkness) are all visual. We must be the light and not look like the world. We should be set apart beginning with what you see right off the back your attire. Yes 💯 it’s about the heart but how you dress is a reflection of what’s in Your heart.
I believe that some of what you are saying is correct, on the other hand it is more than this. We are to cover ourselves. Showing off too much should be for your husband.
I am a Christian. How we dress does matter. God says we are light in the world. How can the world differentiate us from them? If we follow christ we are to be different from the world. Our bodies is God temple and it should be respected and not meant to show alot of skin. Plus it makes the men fall into temptation just because they see skin. Bathing suits are definitely a no! But that's just me.
I’ve been on both sides of the scale… dressing appropriately for the weather and the environment. An elder neighbor told me that she was ostracized by her church for wearing a pair of pants. Our generation wears long pants and nobody bats an eyelid. I used to swim competitively back in school (an all girls school) and my extended family judged me as a “slut”. Which I believe was completely unfair. So it can be very subjective and personal, I think you should have empathy for yourself and understand what your needs are and what level of covering you can afford. Because I imagine modesty also relates to wearing a covering that you can afford and didn’t buy extravagant branded labels on maxed out credit cards 💳
I like how you said what you said about dressing for the beach. For the longest time I stressed that I was doing something wrong if I wore something to the beach I wouldn’t be comfortable wearing into a store. But even a modest swimsuit will be very tight and form fitting, and if it wasn’t it wouldn’t be appropriate to swim in because the water could pull it out of place (especially swimming in the rough water of the ocean surf or diving off a diving board). When I was a teen I got what I thought was a more modest swimsuit because it wasn’t tight and had a wave pull my top down 😳. I personally prefer to cover up at the beach because I burn easily and don’t like to pour on the sunscreen, but even still I wear swim leggings as bottoms where I wouldn’t wear leggings as pants just in life. And when I’m in a more intimate setting like a private hot tub on a porch with friends, I might just wear a regular bathing suit because I prefer not having so much wet clothing on when I get out. I’ve learned that what is appropriate is situationally dependent.
I had a lot of questions regarding modesty and Christianity and I finally have the answers,,,I no longer have to carry the weight of other people's convictions.Thank you.
Something I'd like to hear about is what is considered sinful or not sinful within the marriage, also I hardly ever hear anyone say anything about angels I think that would be cool. Thanks for all the awesome educational videos.
What does Jesus think is a quiet spirit even at the beach? We do have some responsibility for the outward appearance when it comes to sensuality. Why does God clothe Adam and Eve? Would the situation not be okay to go naked (husband and wife)? Is situational ethics culture or God? Or did God set a standard of tunics? Is it acceptable to go to a nude beach situation? Sincerely asking.
Men are to look on women as sisters in all purity. We, women, are responsible to dress in shamefacedness to assist them in their thought life. Clothing short, low, and tight can present a battle before them. It is about considering others as more important than ourselves, including our brothers. It is also walking obediently to our LORD. And I might add, women owning a quiet and gentle spirit is precious in the sight of God.
many women in the church hate the exhortation regarding modesty, desiring the eyes of men to lust after them. And anyone who has been to church lately knows this is true in 99% of the churches if not more.
Jesus Christ, the thrill of hope, for a sick, hurting, and weary world—Romans 10:9-10 from the Bible: “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.” To learn of God’s personal love for you, please click here: https://vallee7.wordpress.com/category/paradise/
This subject can easily lead to legalism. I know because I lived it. There was so much focus on our outward appearance when I grew up. Could only wear skirts or dresses and they had to be a certain length. I couldn't even wear jean skirts! So much condemnation if you wore anything that did not 100% meet their standards. Women were treated like idiots that needed a man to tell us what to do. I appreciate your focus on the heart. If the heart is right everything else falls into place.
For where your treasure is there will your heart be also….Matt. 6:21,Luke 12:34. I grew up legalistically trained to be very modest. Then as an adult I turned away from that, but later when I began soaking in prayer and beginning to learn how to cultivate a way of being that does not drive the Holy Spirit away, that asks Him to stay, that does not grieve the gentle nature of the Spirit of God, that does not distract from Him, is not louder than Him, that is meek and quiet, that seeks to take the background so He can have the foreground. I have come full circle on modesty but for love and passion for God, and cultivating HIs presence, rather than the former fear and self-righteousness. The Holy Spirit is like a little bird, a dove, and if we want Him to find a resting place in us from this evil harsh world, we have to cultivate a place of peace, and quietness, a place where we guard against sin, and all lack of humility, a place where loud harsh words are not there, or He will leave, like a little sparrow on a tree branch does when it doesnt feel at peace any more.
I LOVE braided hair.

Just so you know sweet girl… Everyone has a personal algorithm…so everyone's top results for any search word could vary greatly ❤
Finding fashionable age appropriate clothing that is modest, is next to impossible.

How do you all go about the topic of anti aging and Botox — i hear so much about it right now

How does anyone not love this family?? All of them are such great people.

I’ve been listening to you preach for a couple hours.

Great conversation, thank you for sharing God’s Words and your Holy Spirt lead thoughts. You are a blessing!
Braided hair represented prostitutes back then. Not necessarily the aesthetics of why we braid hair today.
So Paul restricting the dress code by not allowing braided hair was to regulate men’s appetites in the church by not seeing this hair trait.
Thank you for this piece. And thank you for being reminded for taking my own responsibility if I am distracted by someone not modest. Blessings.
This is so good Sadie! Love your heart.
I want to listen to these podcasts more, but there are too many advertisements. They are too often.

There are more important matters Christians should be considering and discussing………..
Beautiful Conversation Between 2 Women Of The Most High GOD 🙌🏾
