A lie is a lie, no matter how big or small, or for whatever reason it’s told. So baby girl on your mom’s dying bed you promised her that you would remain on the farm. Did you not also tell a lie? Because your father tried to ease your mom‘s mind and allow her to transition, knowing that everything would be taken care of, and the farm would remain intact, you are anger with him because it was all a lie.
Truth is relative to the person's experience. Loss is hard…especially when it is the Nexus of the family. Watching someone go through early to mid stages of dementia is a challenge. Your first knee-jerk reaction is to keep the person grounded in your present. Our anxiety is manifested and amplified when the person you love seems lost in their mind. Dementia is both a mental and medical concern. There are resources available to help caregivers, family, friends, and community (including the police). However, this movie focused on one human strength that is as deep as time…Love. In it there is hope, respect, forgiveness, acceptance, and faith. This was a wonderful movie. Thank you for sharing it.
