Should Christians Participate in Halloween? This is a questions that has come up in debates among the church community.

This verse explains why I am against Halloween for ANY Christ-follower!!!
2 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV) "[17] Wherefore Come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch not the unclean thing; And I will receive you,”
The verses you shared are good, but kind of goes from the basis of it being something that could be celebrated, like with the meat example. But the themes and history and general spirit around halloween cannot be reasoned from the scriptures to be something that follows of Jesus would want to have anything to do with. Magic, witchcraft, contacting the dead……..these are all prohibited in the Greek and the Hebrew scriptures, as people in the live chat were saying.
In my video I looked at 3 aspects – what is the history of it, what does the Bible say about the themes of halloween, and what do people who were involved in the occult say about halloween? The last point being being something someone in the chat brought up. And no matter what I might think of children just getting involved in the "safe" parts of the holiday, we as followers of Jesus have better things to be doing on that day than encouraging people to engage even implicitly with such things.
Hallowed Halls idea is good……….but not as a replacement on the day itself! That's the sort of thing that a church could organise on any other day. As you said – we are to be different than the world. Do we have to find some way to give out sweets on that particular day, just because everyone else is?
Thank you for putting this up, brother. This is not meant to be flippant or cliche', but Genesis 1:1 predates ALL pagan corruptions of the creation. If we believe the bible is both true and historical, we see that God has always had his truth going forward from Adam to the Flood to the Tower of Babel, where all were scattered WITH the flood story (judgment/redemption) in mind (which is why there are flood "legends" in all cultures of antiquity, but I digress). Thankfully God chose a nation to directly reveal his truth and law to bring Christ as the redeemer. Creation is corrupted by men who do not like to RETAIN God their knowledge (Romans 1: 18-25; Deuteronomy 4:1-19). So I put all that to posit this: the "pagan holidays" corrupted in some way the biblical truth and not the other way around. Perhaps all of the things you mentioned are profitable to others depending on where they are, spiritually speaking: "alternative activities" on church property can be good for those who already attend that church or to others who are not hardened against visiting a church; we give out gospel tracts with candy at our house for those who may not want to attend or consider attending a "religious" alternative but do go door-to-door in the traditional, American manner. "Participation" in Halloween, for the Christian, would be activity which would contradict his/her Christian walk. We can have "fun" on these holidays, so long as there is a desire to please Christ and promote his truth. When the Lord is not in our minds, no matter the day of the year, is when we should think about our priorities. A more important concern for the Christian, myself included, is what am I doing on all the other more mundane days of the year? What if we pondered our activities every other day on the calendar as "seriously" as we do Halloween? 2Peter318
I don't hear anyone complaining about the Yule tree at Christmas, but costumes at Halloween is just a step too far xD Christmas replaced Saturnalia and Yule, Easter replaced a ton of fertility and spring festivals, and All Hallow's Eve was used to replace the harvest festival. Halloween is no different from any other Christian holiday, it was just a way to subvert pagan holidays so converting the locals was easier.
