Matthew 10, especially vs 23.
Matthew 16, especially vs 27-28.
Matthew 24, especially vs 14-34, then vs 35-36 which clearly state that while he definitely expected to be back before some of them died, as he said in chapters 10 and 16, he just couldn’t say precisely when.
Revelation 1:1-7 and 22:6-7. Even the soldiers that checked to see if he was dead yet were still alive!
Then, 1st John 2:18. Many anti-Christs had already appeared as was predicted. Mat 24:24.
All these passages clearly indicate that Jesus expected to return while some of his first twelve apostles were still living. “I assure you,” he said, “that you will not finish your work (of preaching the gospel and certifying it by doing miracles) in all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.” All of these passages, and others, inadvertently declair that Jesus is not coming back; that he lied! Most people at the time were not fooled and knew the truth all along. Since then, many people have recognized that “believers” were twisting the scriptures to make them say things they don’t say and, rather than the members all being of one mind, teaching a lot of lies resulting in thousands of churches with opposing doctrines! See 1st Corinthians 1:10-13 where such division is rightly condemned!
Now, if you can read and you are honest, and if you really love the truth, you owe non-believers a sincere apology.
