I was a Pastor on campus, and i ensured the budget is rolled out to the congregants and when they donated and the project starts, i ensured a thorough breakdown of expenditure is given openly – they knew what came in, what was spent and what is remaining. Students began to give like they never did in previous tenures even though i never for once preached on offering and tithes! Now, that's the power of accountability and sticking to the way of the early church!
You see, this matter of tithe ehn… All pastors should come together and just agree that they've dwelled too much on it and become plain with their congregants who hold them in high regards. If the early Church practiced generous and freewill giving only, at what point did specified givings get introduced to the Church? I think the early christians were closer to the early apostles than we are today, and so they can't be wrong. NO!
