  1. Please!!! Take your time. I don’t care if it’s 5 years. One of the things that felt discouraging about the Spurgeon study Bible is that it felt rushed, and for how much Spurgeon wrote it was unfortunate that his study Bible did not contain as much. That could’ve been a choice by the publisher to consolidate, but I would hope that the Jonathan Edwards study Bible wouldn’t hold back anything worth, including.

  2. Please put cross references in it! I have some nice CSB Bibles but not all of them have it. It’s frustrating to have to consult another Bible to write them in. Like the cross references about OT prophecies of Jesus. A star in front of the prophecies of Jesus and the fulfillment in the NT would be nice.

  3. The question is will it be available in goatskin and edge-lined? And I think you know what you did with that thumbnail holding up a Bible; I should have known better than to believe you were holding a preproduction. Regardless, I will be praying for your endeavor.

  4. We understand the nature of doing scholarly research in that it cannot be rushed. Great work does take time. We pray for you and your team in this wonderful, Christ-exalting work.

  5. Wow this is really exciting Pastor Matt! So happy for you. Obviously it's a TON of work so I will keep you and the others in prayer. Really looking forward to reading the completed item! 👍

  6. You should take donations to help make the study Bible as large as possible! I would be more than happy to donate! You can only do this once. We all want the most Edwards-dense and leather-consuming Bible ya'll can put together! Seriously, I would eagerly donate now

  7. This is brilliant! Sounds orderly, thorough, and well planned out. I like the references for WJE. Can't thank you enough for all the laboring hours you spend building up and out for His Kingdom, brother ❤

  8. I intended to purchase of this forthcoming study bible anyway because Jonathan Edwards is in my top three Reformed scholars of all time, and my very favorite American Reformed scholar as well. Your video really impressed me so much that I really think it should take the Reformed world by storm.

My favorite confessional Lutheran scholar is Johann Gerhard, who I believe was not just the best theologian of Orthodox Lutheranism, but the EST and most orthodox Pietist scholar as well. There will probably never be a Johann Gerhard study Bible, hehe. However, a Jonathan Edwards study bible will make up for that. 🙂

  9. Pastor Matt, it’s incredible that you have this amount of additional work for the study Bible and still manage to post videos for us. Bless you and may the Lord surround your team as you deliver an incredible tool of faith to the body of Christ.

  10. Glad to hear it’s being done correctly and with honor. I look forward to the completion and I pray I will know more of Mr Edward’s by then as I have not read much of it yet. I’ll start with the resolutions.

  11. Hello Pastor Matt, I love your insights on Jonathan Edwards. I often think upon his resolutions! I have written a screenplay based on his role in the First Great Awakening. Would you be interested in reading it and giving some feedback?

  12. I can hardly wait to get my hands on this Study Bible… I know that it will be worth the wait with you at the helm and the Scholars you have put together comprising your team
Just be like the builder “Measure twice and cut once” meaning take your time, implement those wonderful ideas.. and just make sure to add me to your pre-order list!!!😊👏🙏❤️

  13. I am so happy that you picked Christian Cuthbert for this project as well! I currently attend University of Connecticut (UConn for short) and I actually started attending his church this past semester. Love the way he preaches and definitely believe he can greatly contribute to the Jonathan Edwards Study Bible.

  14. Thank you for all of your amazing work! I think this is going to be incredibly useful to so many people. Do you think there would ever be a possibility of making a standalone single volume commentary of JE? (Much like the single volume Matthew Henry commentary) I'm not an experienced biblical scholar (a chemist actually) but I like being able to use a commentary without the actual biblical text on the same page (I use my ESV study bible). I think it would be a pretty cool standalone resource for anyone wanting to quickly see his thoughts on a section.

Keep up the amazing and Godly work you are doing! Greetings from South Africa.

  15. Hi Pastor Matt, I watch and share your channel all the time. Words can’t describe how grateful I am for you and other Reformed-Christian men and women the Lord has used in my own and family’s life.

    I have a quick question for you…
Do you know if RHB’s “Jonathan Edwards Commentary of the New Testament” is abridged? It’s a six-volume set by Reformation Heritage Books. Thank you!
