  1. So you can say ‘adultery’ is not a problem since David saw a fine woman from the roof top and killed her husband in order to have her.
Do everything in moderation baba and learn from the people before you. Let your royal model reflect in your appearance and conduct.

  2. This is beautiful and inspiring.
God will see Pastor Jimmy Odukoya through this journey.
God is raising an end-time army for Himself, and I know God will fulfill His will through this His servant in Jesus name.

  3. Pastor Jimmy, not judging, but don't u think your Dad wants changes to come through u that is y u are put on d front line.
As a lady if I wear tight wear to worship a place or office, I feel uncomfortable amuch more ur new post,
This generation and generation to come follow what they see, as time unfold, I know God will continue to unveil Himself to you.
I wish you great growth. Change is constant, believe me…

  4. I know it's the devil sole business to accuse brethren. But it's also the sole business of brethren to admonish one another. This dude knows his letter like a constitution to defend his stance argumentatively on the grounds that the bible say. Being a lead pastor he won't take heed to be corrected. Over to the flocks under his care. He is making his rules. As a god of men not a steward to admonish where to learn from the foundation of truth.

  5. 1Peter 3:3 " Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel." Samson's mother was instructed not to cut his hair. Exodus that you mentioned: they turned their gold earrings (it was their women not men) to an idol and GOD was angry. In Yoruba land, only the worshiper of Sango plaits hair. You were quoting the bible to support your worldly lifestyle.

  6. I am here reading some of these comments and shaking my head in worry. People, the walk with God ultimately is a personal one and before you come for me, the bible is written instruction to guide by REVELATION; and revelation is personal.

Jesus our ultimate example while he walked this earth was outspoken against stereotyping and hypocrisy.

What is the yardstick or the measure of a man's heart, love and devotion for God? If the answer is his outward appearance, then I think many of us have gotten it wrong from the start.

I say this carefully, our problem as Christians in Nigeria is doctrine and largely the reason why we are not impactful as believers. Let's take a break from all the religious confinement we were taught and raised with and read our bibles for ourselves with the mind of Christ. Then all these things that seem important will become as nothing.

The demand of heaven and God, is for nothing but worshippers in spirit and in truth – the veil was torn, shredded.

The kingdom of heaven only demands RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE and JOY in the Holy Ghost and it is for the Jews, the Gentiles and everyone.

Now before the pillars of religion come for me, remember the first and last commandment – LOVE. It doesn't judge, it is tolerant and accommodating. Christianity is a way of life, a personal journey with your father – God, and not a doctrine, prescription or religion.

    Shalom.

  7. Honestly i don't see why people make such a big deal of draids and tattoos. The most important is his relationship with God not hair and tattoos the Bible says i have tattooed you in the palms of my hands. Pray for him but this thing of demonizing people because of hair and tattoos is no where near biblical just say it's your opinion. May God be with you Pastor Jimmy

  8. There is no biblical condemnation for men wearing long hair. At the end of the day, let us all face our front shebi salvation na personal. Leave this man be and concentrate on your own walk with the Lord.

  9. Pastor Jimmy i respect you alot but this spiritual backing you're giving doesn't sound good to me. You said they pulled Jesus' hair, are you comparing yourself to Jesus? Jesus is one and there can NEVER be any like him.
May God grant you the Grace and Wisdom to lead.

  10. You may have the ministry of the word in defending your looks…but I pray the ministry of the spirit comes on you…then your life will be different…Far from what it is now
    Also
God called you as you are…but you will not remain as you are…

  11. With his physical outlook choice, no Nigerian church will let him lead in this capacity. His father’s church is the only one he can be engaged in.

All so called biblical reasons for keeping earrings are as weak as anything and to say the fathers in the Lord that ordained him lead pastor couldn’t try and change it is a problem too.

There’s something known as consecration. You leave those things you love so much and become modest in all things.

  12. Uhmmm! Unfortunately, worldliness has been mixed with the things of God so much and everybody wants to justify their choices/decisions using the word of God. The world supposed to follow our godly examples and not the opposite. It is well.

  13. Lust of the flesh can never be in the kingdom! HOLY SPIRIT can never become fleshy spirit. Friendship with the world is enmity with GOD! And ye shall know them by their fruits! That’s all there is to say

  14. 1cor 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. As a pastor it may not be sinful to wear dread, earrings, but in order not to lead some astray, one needs to maintain modesty rather than explaining and explaining.

  15. I completely agree with you with all your scriptural backing but as you are the leader now, don’t forget that you will account for everyone of us that you are leading. I pray the Holyspirit reveals himself to you. Bless you!

  16. What you said about Samson was true but the question is, did God also told you to turn your hair to dread?
May holy spirit teaches you His word and give you grace to unravel mysteries in the word of God.

  17. It is UNFORTUNATE we have reached a level in the church you cannot say WRONG IS WRONG, If you dear say so, you are judgmental. Judgmental is condemning someone to hell, but saying someone is wrong is not passing judgement it is saying the truth. Many of you are the people APOSTLE PAUL said "their ears will be itchy to right doctrines "😂😂😂😂😂😂

  18. Never judge a man by his looks, but the position of the head of a church requires great responsibility and sacrifice, cus members are looking at you as a leader and standard to copy or reproach, if anyone of them feels offended by your outlook then perhaps maybe you should change as a sacrifice, but its not compulsory, as for me i have no problem with it

  19. So this is just my personal opinion. I personally have nothing against men on dreads and earrings and all what not. However, I think this his defense was weak. Really weak. Also, this is Africa; people expect their leaders to be held to a certain standard according what is considered moral and acceptable in mainstream afro culture and perception.

I personally have always liked/respected, Jimmy and I think his heart is in the right place, and that he is truly called by God to navigate the weird space between the pulpit and the set. But I think he should do better than citing Samson in his defense because that was weak. And also, arguments like this are ultimately fruitless since all they really do is take away from what we should be focusing on, which is Jesus.

  20. Samson was a nazarite, but if your not then you are justifying your locs. Numbers 6:2-5 KJV
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the Lord : [3] He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. [4] All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk. [5] All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the Lord, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.

  21. 1 Corinthians 11:7,14-15 KJV
For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. [14] Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? [15] But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
