  1. THE GOSPEL

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also

ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

    – 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 KJV

    – John 14:6 KJV

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:22

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:7-8

  2. Saw Donald James Parker in "The Old Rugged Cross" so I thought I would give this a look see. This appears to be fun movie dealing with misplaced priorities, discipleship, BFF, and the roles of men and women in marriage all from a Biblical perspective, and if you can get by the emoting you might laugh too; but remember to be a Berean because it touches on controversial subjects. It's not just a love story for seniors, especially when some of these subjects are brought up so casually, like they don't really matter THAT much.
One BIG reservation, it lurches toward the Charismatic side of Christianity and past it with the mention of tongues, and Sid Roth who has nothing to do with Christianity but a lot to do with emotions. And one of the characters wants to make a big life decision based on a movie rather than God's word.
One more caveat, an important person to the movie not only reads The Message Bible but memorizes and quotes it. Compare the passage she quotes at 48:28 – For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God…

  3. I wonder who made this movie and if they understand about the unbiblical beliefs of Sid Roth, whose name was mentioned in the movie ? Mr Roth believes (with a bunch of other "prosperity gospel" people) that he's been to heaven. The Bible doesn't teach Any of these weird things that they do. The LORD JESUS did Not go to hell ! He experienced it on the cross ; but He Never sinned – lost sinners go there . When John went to heaven, he was told he was not allowed to tell anyone what he saw. Yet these people tell such Totally ludicrous things that (supposedly) happened to them there. 🙏🦋💒

  4. I have enjoyed watching this film. Such mature Christian dialogue too, delivered superbly even the questions that these bear. More-so the gentle-spirit/flow of the film. Same thing that draws one to Donald James Parker, like in the "Old Rugged Cross". This is the kind of atmosphere I want. And this is how I love the gospel to be preached to me. Good work!

  5. ok… this movie has gone south for the winter. i was so not expecting his announcement. not everyone has taken the plunge if you will. i didn't even want to have my blood transfusion which i desperately needed at that time. so no, not everyone has crossed that line or thresh hold if you will!

  6. It is evident that the writer is ignorant about HIV. Had he done a modicum of research, he would know that it is possible for serodiscordant couples to have sex without transmitting HIV, and for a person whose HIV is well-controlled to live a normal lifespan. He would also know that it is not possible for a patient to receive the results of another, because at the time of collection, the patient must confirm that the sample is labeled with his name and birthdate. Further, a positive result must be disclosed in-person, and cannot be disclosed in the mail or over the phone. As the writer, director, and star of a film whose plot is contingent upon an HIV test, Parker should have gotten one himself, so he could actually be knowledgeable about what he is writing.
