  1. The Problem I Have with Hacksaw Ridge and Desmond Doss the WWII Veteran is that he is a SDA and a Pacifist, if you study the history and origins of SDA Church its full of Anti-Catholic Conspiracy theories and embelishes Justified Wars such as the Crusades and Inquisitions, even many SDAs and Protestants in general condemn the crusades because they believe Christianity is a Pacifist Religion when its not, In my Opinion Pacifism solves nothing because if the Enemy and Oppressor attacks and we do nothing in self defense Satan's Army of Soldiers prevail, Pacifists in my opinion give christianity a bad name. you know what type of christians are also Pacifist and they condemn Just War Theory and Killing in Home or Self Defense? The Westboro Baptist Church. Catholicism help me understand the Context of Christian History, Scripture and Theology more than Protestantism did. Thank You Trent for what you do.

  2. I can't stress how incredible of a film Hacksaw Ridge is. It depicts idealism, piety, heroism and conviction for what is good. I'm personally not a person who watches any film, but Hacksaw Ridge speaks to me on such a deep level, that I can't help but watch it again and again.
What's most amazing about the movie, is that Mel Gibson had to tone down the events in the film so as to make it more believable, since the real life events and work of Desmond Doss were simply just that unbelievable, despite being well attested in history.

  3. β€œA man who spent 19 years in prison for stealing some bread to feed his family.”

FIVE YEARS FOR WHAT YOU DID. THE REST BECAUSE TO TRIED TO RUN, 64601.

    MY NAME IS JEAN VALJEAN.

AND IM JAVERT. DO NOT FORGET ME. DO NOT FORGET MY NAME, 64601.

I ah….love that song. Just watcher beware, it is ALL song. 12 year old me was not prepared for that.

  4. CHRIST stopped Mary veneration/worship right at the beginning but pagans will continue to be pagans:

Luke 11:27 KJV "And it came to pass, as HE (CHRIST) spoke these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto HIM, Blessed is the womb that bare you, and the paps which you have sucked.

28 But HE said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the WORD of GOD, and keep it."

Matthew 12:47 KJV "Then one said unto HIM (CHRIST), Behold, YOUR mother and YOUR brethren stand without, desiring to speak with YOU.

48 But HE answered and said unto him that told HIM, Who is MY mother? and who are MY brethren?

49 And HE stretched forth HIS hand toward HIS disciples, and said, Behold MY mother and MY brethren!

50 For whosoever shall do the will of MY FATHER which is in Heaven, the same is MY brother, and sister, and mother."

  5. I absolutely think that the Hunchback of Notre Dame should be in here (Disney Version) it’s an incredible story on not only how the Church can help fight against the secular world and particularly the secular world corrupting the Word for evil but also Frollos song and sequence of hellfire gives a great illustration of free will when throughout the whole sequence seemingly God (it’s a secular movie so not necessarily but that’s def implied) gives Frollo so many chances to turn away from the evils he’s committing when Frollo asks Him to however he never accepts the free gift he rejects it even till the very end seemingly Frollo has that choice (in the song) and he still decides to stick to his guns it’s incredible and as a follower of Christ it gives me chills every time

  6. I recall I went to Catholic Church one time with a friend as a kid maybe it was like Sunday school or some equivalent but the only thing I remember about it was watching the prince of Egypt. Which I most recently watched a few years ago at a nondenominational VBS.

  7. I'm a film buff, and you put some decent movies here.

One Christian film that I would add is The Apostle, about a preacher with an anger issue on the run from an unintended fit of rage murder. Robert Duvall wrote, directed, stars, and financed it, and he was nominated for Best Actor.

  8. i nominate Cabrini, Padre Pio, Braveheart, Paul the Apostle of Christ, Father Stu, and The Song of Bernadette to be added to the list for future videos. Trent if you haven't watched these, I highly highly recommend them. Silence is one of my all time favorites, good picks.

  9. All Narnia movies are awesome, especially the Voyage of the Dawn Treader where it allegorize the 7 deadly sins and their punishments. It's a Wonderful Life is also a masterpiece that promotes pro-life and not to disregard the impact of your life on others. Bruce Almighty is also good that it teaches you to be humble and submit to God because He knows what's best for you and to lean not on your own understanding.

  10. I have an Anime Movie Recommendation. It's called "A Silent Voice" and Beautifully Captures a Number of Christian Themes including Forgiveness both Forgiving Others and Need to Forgive Oneself, of Hope, Dealing with Self Loathing and the Guilt of Sin, Connecting with Others.

There is Even a Christ like Archetype of the Silent Lamb within the Female Protagonist who bears and suffers yet endures and redeems through her innocence.

Though not explicitly Christian, the Movie is Christian!

  11. I like most of the list and added to my watch list specially with my kiddos the only think I disliked was the unnecessary Zack Snyder's shade. It was really brave of him to make the comparison to Jesus in a mainstream superhero movie when the others pretend Christianity doesn't even exist. It might be tiresome for believers that see Christ every day but for casuals it was actually a great reminder of our Lord.

  12. My wife and I just rewatched Prince of Egypt as adults. We have 2 children, and as a new father, I basically cried the entire movie. Watching the mother set baby Moses adrift in the basket simply tore my heart asunder.
