I was reading a book about her and something pricked my soul. The Proverbs 31 woman? She was being described by another woman. A mother who was telling her son what to look for in a marriage partner. The Proverbs 31 Woman is not a list of ideals from a man, but from a woman… which means it is actually attainable!
A woman who loves and fears God is the most precious being. Just by covering her hair with a scarf she is placing herself at a different level from all others. You can't play games with a woman who lives her live trought God's word. She will see right trough your bullshit. Much love and respect from a Orthodox brother.

aesthete vs vanity : I don't think it means to ignore hair and make up either. That's femininity shaming. I think it needs to be reframed here as that loving beauty without making it your master is good, God created beautiful things. Therefore in His image we must love beauty too, right?
